Pilot Season News: S.H.I.E.L.D. is now Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD

Sunday, April 7th, 2013

Here is the new synopsis:

“Fresh from his role in the summer’s box office smash, Marvel’s The Avengers, Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) returns to the worldwide law enforcement organisation SHIELD. He puts together a small, highly trained, team of agents to tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet: the new, the strange and the unknown. That team consists of straight arrow agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), an expert in combat and espionage; pilot and martial artist Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen); and brilliant if socially awkward scientists Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). They’ll be joined by civilian new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

“Prepare for an epic adventure that showcases the hope and wonder of the human spirit. This is a world of superheroes, aliens and the unusual; of action, spectacle and world-spanning stories. The show will speak to the human condition through the lens of our very human, non-powered SHIELD agents – that together we are greater than we are apart, and that we can make a difference in the world.

“Executive produced and co-written by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Lost, Heroes) comes Marvel’s first live-action TV series, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.”

Lost Girl: Recap of S3:Ep.11 – Adventures in Fae-by Sitting and Synopsis of Hail Hale

130325_2634892_Lost_Girl___Sneak_Peek___Adventures_in_Fae_b_480x270_480x270_23412291934___CC___300x168Synopsis: Bo and Kenzie go undercover in the Shady Grove to investigate a gated community when a babysitter asks for their help to determine what happened to her employer. Meanwhile, Lauren makes a difficult, and potentially dangerous, choice.

My recap: This episode harkened back to the beginning of the series, where Bo and Kenzi take on a case that came to them via one of their old flyers. The case revolved around a coven of bitter housewives, who used magic to off those that pissed them off, be it husbands or annoying neighbors. How they killed people was via a fae that has been dead for a while, but via magic is used as a vessel for their evil deeds.

This storyline opened Bo up to the power that is in her, her daddy issues and her “break” from Lauren.

Which brings me to Lauren, we found out that she is actually on the lam and someone is willing to give her a fresh start and it is not Bo. She leaves the Ash necklace and her cell on her desk and she walks away from this life. Shocking!!!! We always considered her Bo’s doormat, but apparently she gets it… Bo’s new post-dawning fae life will always take precedent over love. The question is, will she be back when the chips are down for Bo? Bets anyone?

While this is all going on, Dyson and Tamsin catch a break on the case that pointed a finger at Bo for a series of fae murders that had been plaguing the town. They go to a field and after some digging, find a slew of murdered fae. One of the bodies match the fingerprints on one of the decedants in the dark fae’s original case. Dun, dun, dunnnnnn… Of course, we caught sight of something keeping an eye on the investigation…

Btw, did you notice that Tamsin was not looking too hot in the episode? Is waiting for the inevitable really taking such a toll on her?

Overall, this was a fun episode that not only gave us back the fun of watching Kenzi and Bo working a case, but gave us more insight on charcters like Lauren and Hale. These are the episodes that build the mythos of this universe and they should keep doing it.

Next time: After an attack at the Dal one of the group member’s life is left hanging in the balance. Meanwhile, the Morrigan attempts to instigate a Light/Dark Fae clash with Kenzi and Hale caught in the middle.
