This was the week to say adios to a lot of your favorite shows, at least for the summer that is, and was it an awe inspiring, saddening and confusing week as we were left with cliff-hangers that made us scream at our TVs.

We are focusing on the CW’s slew of supernatural shows…

Arrow:  23rd Ep., Season 1 –  SacrificeWhen they discover Malcolm’s plan, Oliver and Diggle try to stop him but lose Felicity to a police arrest. Meanwhile, Thea learns that Roy is in danger and goes to The Glades, endangering herself as well, while Oliver risks what’s left of his friendship with Tommy for the sake of honesty. In the past, Oliver, Shado, and Slade try to stop Fyers from bringing down a passenger jet.

For a freshman show, we were not surprised at how much of a rollercaoster of a ride this season was, especially with its past/present storylines for Oliver. Like many other shows, it was not the protagonist’s (Oliver’s) storyline that made us keep watching. It was Felicity, Diggs, Tommy, Laurel, Quentin, etc… These characters gave the show a richness that other shows of the same ilk lack. So, it was with great sadness to see not one, but two of them pass away, but we’ll touch on that in a bit.

Malcolm had his diabolical plan set and he was not letting anyone get in his way… he is so blinded by his ire that he cannot think of the smaller picture, that of his relationship with his son Tommy. But that was not the only familial story plot to come to ahead. Nope, Moira helped Oliver by not only telling her son about when the Undertaking would take place, but she also called a press conference to announce to the world about the plan that Malcolm created… it also ensured that she would pay for her participation. This forced Thea to go to the Glades to save Roy, whose heroic streak may or may not be his downfall. As Malcolm’s plan kicks in after a foiled attempt to quell it by Oliver, Felicity, Quentin, and Diggs, Tommy goes in to save Laurel. Unfortunately, like his father (who died by Oliver’s arrow) he does not make it out.

With the loss of Malcolm and Tommy, Moira’s impending imprisonment, Roy’s questionable survival, Quentin on suspension, and the destruction of the Glades, we have to wonder how these characters and Starling City will move forward.

There was a flash back sequence, my least favorite gimmick of the series, and as the group successfully stops Fyers from taking down an airplane, we see the rise of the Oliver that we’ve come to know so well.

Overall, this season ender was an example of how shows can end a storyline neatly and satisfactorily. Unfortunately, seeing Tommy die had me crushed. I said, on a weekly basis, that seeing Tommy going through the hell of playing second fiddle to Oliver and seeing the struggle in his face and actions was a highlight.

Beauty and the Beast: 22nd Ep., Season 1 – Never Turn Back - Secrets revealed will change what Cat knows about her past. Vincent faces his downfall while Gabe goes to extreme lengths to find answers.

This episode was filled with reveals that it made us want to see Season 2 start tomorrow.

As we watched Vincent continue to stay in check with the medicine that Gabe gave him in exchange for some of his blood, things start to inevitably fall apart for Cat and Vincent.  JT finds out that Gabe wants to steal Vincent’s lymphatic system to save himself, he then destroys all of Gabe’s equipment and that forces Gabe to kidnap Cat in order to force Vincent to give in to his demands. This plan does not work out for Gabe because Muirfield shows up and kills Gabe, kidnaps Vincent and we learn the biggest secret of the season… that Cat’s father is the head of Muirfield. Yes, you heard me right.

Now, Cat does not know this, but her little sister learns that Cat is not related to their father. The only reason she finds this out is after their father is injured by a hit and run driver and Cat gives blood thinking it would assist her father in his recuperation. The nurse shows up and informs Cat’s little sister that Cat and her father are not genetically related.

Cat’s partner also learns something big after Cat hands over her father’s effects (which he was going to hand over to Cat) to be analyzed by their IT department. What she learns is that the head of Muirfield is back in town and she is goes to give a head’s up to Cat, but comes across JT, who was handcuffed by Tyler (r.i.p.).

I am actually looking forward to season 2 because Vincent is in Muirfield’s hands and Cat’s life in a tizzy, so next season will surely be action-packed.

Supernatural: 23rd Ep., Season 8 – Sacrifice – Using the tablet half in his possession, Crowley prepares to make his final move in the grand game against Heaven. Only Dean, Sam, and Kevin can stop him. Meanwhile, Castiel and Metatron join forces and try to stop Naomi’s scheme.

Who knew that this whole time, where we spent one eye on Naomi and one on Crawley that we actually had to worry about the Messenger of God. That’s right, Metatron.

This once reclusive angel has been harboring a deep-seated resentment towards everyone for what has happened to the heaven he once called home. So, he uses Sam and Dean to close the gates of hell (happily does not happen), kills Naomi, makes Castiel a human and forces the angels to fall from heaven. Yea… yea… not good at all.

This ruse of assisting Castiel allowed Metatron to fulfill God’s desire of protecting humans. Yet, there is something infinitesimally wrong with how Metatron forced the Angels to fall and become human. Yes, this allows Humans to not become pawns in the archangel’s game of power chess. But, now he is in the power seat and with great power, comes great insanity.

I think the most worrisome aspect to this season was the declining fortitude of Sam as he prepared for the Trials. Now that it is not happening, how will he be?

There is also a big question mark with Crawley. Since the trials were not completed, will Crawley become the jerk that we all love to hate or will he become something else?

Also, what will happen to Cas? Will he still be our Cas or will he be someone else?

It is painful to have so many questions and a lengthy 3 to 4 months to wait for answers.

The Vampire Diaries: 23rd Ep., Season 4 – GraduationGraduation has arrived and Mystic Falls is filled with ghosts that are planning to settle unfinished business and to fulfill their destinies. Damon is in grave danger when he meets a ghost, while Matt and Rebekah work together against a ghost that is trying to reach the cure. Everyone gathers up for Graduation when help comes from someone unexpected. At the same time Caroline gets a surprising graduation gift and Bonnie is very close at closing the veil. Elena makes a decision about the Salvatores and has a showdown with Katherine. Stefan makes a horrifying discovery about Silas.

I think the beauty of the last two episodes is that it allowed us to see some much-missed faces, like Alaric, Lexi and Jeremy. It also allowed us to get much needed closure on storylines that needed to end… stat.

But, with endings, come new issues to deal with.

So, what has ended? High School is in the rearview mirror. Everyone has graduated and all of them are looking forward to the future. Well, except for Bonnie who is off to the other side and happy about it because her friends are happy and safe… or so she thinks. Remember the spell that killed Bonnie? It worked at the end of the episode and Jeremy is back.

As a graduation gift, Klaus allows Tyler to comeback to Mystic Falls and his parting words to were quite memorable, “Tyler is your first love, but I will be your last.” Le swoon Klaus, le swoon.

Elena has finally made her choice and she has chosen…. Damon. Can you believe it? I can. But, will it work out? Not really sure and that is only because Elena has given Katherine the gift of humanity and as a human she may get to Damon. Damon will also contend with Stefan, who is actually Silas in disguise. Oh wait, where is Stefan? He is at the bottom of the falls.

Now, the sweetest moment took place with Matt and Rebekah. Rebekah saves Matt from becoming pink mist, but not after describing the two of them travelling the world. When she takes his place on the pressure bomb, she urges him to go and graduate. You would think that would be end of their tale, but it is not… she goes to see him to say goodbye, but he balks and says he will go on this trip so he can finally live his life and get the hell out of dodge, I mean Mystic Falls.

I am so happy High School is over and I am so glad that we have such a meaty Stefan storyline to hook us back into this show, because with the Originals moving on to their own series…. We, as the cast, are kind of worried if the show will succeed. Yet, with the knowledge that the Originals would be floating in and out of the Vampire Diaries and that many of the cast will be back for the 5th season, it is safe to say that we will get another phenomenal season.

Overall, the CW did a great job with their shows from beginning to end and I cannot wait to see what is to come next season, for these shows and the new ones.

TV Time: The Week That Was… Once Upon a Time was Tops! Plus Game of Thrones, Grimm, Doctor Who, Arrow, Beauty and the Beast, Supernatural, and the Vampire Diaries Needed More Caroline…

Monday, May 6th, 2013

Hi Everyone,

This is Ro, Maria’s kid, again. She is a bit under the weather right now, so I decided to pitch in and help her out with the site. I hope you like the pics of Alex, because my BFF (Embee) is in love with Alex and spent some time picking out pics that would make your ovaries explode (sorry, that is a tumblrism).

I have to make this quick because I am on the third revision of the 6th chapter for my thesis.

Where do I start? Okay. I am doing what my Mom does for the podcast and give you my idea of what blew my mind in TV and what left me wondering why I was doing this favor for my Mom.

Wait, she is taking over the laptop:

Hi! In-between coma-like spells right now. I just wanted to say that all the shows I cover were really good this week. IF I had to pick a less than stellar episode, it would have to be The Vampire Diaries  Why? Well, except for the moment where Damon snapped Matt’s neck as a ploy to force Elena to regain her feelings, I could really care less about saving her humanity. What was great was the whole Silas tormenting Caroline and seeing her desperation to save her Mom. You can tell that if she had the chance, she would high-tail it out of Mystic Falls to save her Mom and herself. If you are wondering about my thoughts about Bonnie and Katherine, this story line has gotten a bit out of hand and at time I wish the writers reeled it in a bit. Yes, I can see them setting the path where some story lines will be completed, via death, graduation or etc.. In all honesty, I’m just glad this show is moving away from a High School setting.

I would have to say the latest episodes of Arrow and Beauty and the Beast, were okay. In Arrow, we got out Walter back, but at what price? Malcolm is not one to mess around with. If you saw the pics from the upcoming episode than you catch my drift. Happily, Ollie has Diggs back in his corner. Unfortunately, with the knowledge of his Mom’s work with Malcolm… there is some definite strain on the home-front. I’m not even going to talk about Laurel, this story line needs to stop. He needs to romance his IT person. For Beauty and the Beast, the knowledge that Cat’s Mom is really dead is a great relief, because if she was alive… I think we would be treading in General Hospital territory. Gabe’s story was interesting, who is after him and why? Is it Muirfield? If it’s not them, than where are they? These little questions keep me intrigued with this show.

Out of all the CW shows, I think Supernatural has me glued to my seat. Seeing the toll that the trials were taking on Sam was quite unnerving. Especially when he was near the Messenger. I was waiting for blood to pour out of his eyes and ears. Yet, knowing that what Kevin was working on was actually a cure for Demons and that Sam was now going to be a-okay, made me sigh a huge sigh of relief. I also loved the background story of why the Angels and Demons are at each other’s throats and why humans are just pawns in a game of chess for the universe.

Grimm also gave us a really interesting back story about the war locks (keys). The keys/maps were created by the Templar’s,  all of whom were Grimms apparently, who were hiding something very important. What that is… no one has a clue. Hank was still on vacation and the case that Nick, Monroe and Rosalee worked on revolved a series of wesen that were on the verge of extinction. Yet, that was not the highlight for me. It is all about Juliette and her memories and how she is going to get Nick back.

Game of Thrones once again had me glued to the TV, but it was not because we saw Tyrion break the news to Sansa that they were betrothed, or Melisandre taking Gendry, or finding out that Jaimie and Brienne were going to be separated, or Jon and Ygritte making it over the wall… nope the episode was memorable because we watched Tywin and Oleanna negotiate the betrothels of their children. It showed just how knowledgeable they are, but it was quite saddening to see how they used their kids as pawns in a game of chess for power. Swallowing swords…

If there ever was an episode where we saw the Doctor infatuated with the ladies, it would have to be in the Crimson Horror episode of Doctor Who. He now only kisses Lady Vastra’s wife, but he endears himself to his heroine, Ada. A blind young woman that is treated like a slave by her insane mother and saves the Doctor when her mother tells her to kill him with rest of the rejects. He is also in a tizzy regarding the whereabouts of Clara, who becomes a part of a diorama. What was really interesting was when Clara’s kids find out the truth about Clara and the Doctor. What a tangled web we weave Clara…

I have to admit that my favorite show of the past week was Once Upon a Time. This was the first part of the season finale and as such, it was filled with a lot of action and it all revolved around Regina, Mary Margaret, Emma, Neal, Tamara and Greg. So, Mary Margaret uses magic to find out where Regina is being tortured and this tips of Emma and Neal, they get to the canning facility and catch Tamara red-handed. Unfortunately, she used a magic bean to get away. This little wormhole catches Neal and sucks him in to god knows where. This all happened just as Emma and Neal confessed their love for one another. Will we see Neal again? Hope so. Back to Regina, she is saved and informs her heroes that Greg and Tamara have the trigger gem that would destroy Storybrooke. Now, Tamara and Greg find out the use of this gem from the home office, but how? Who is the head of the home office?

In the Fairy tale back story line, we see where Bae ended up after he was sucked out of the enchanted forest and that was Victorian London. He is saved by Wendy Darling and gets embroiled in a plot to save Wendy’s brothers from the shadows. Any who, this is how Bae meets Hook. Now, my initial thought of the home office made me suspect that Wendy was the head honcho, what do you think?

Now that I have mentioned chess twice…. I’m going to play for a bit before I pass…

Game of Thrones: Recap of S3:Ep.05 – Kissed by Fire and Promo/Synopsis of The Climb

Sunday, April 28th, 2013

Synopsis: The Hound is judged by the gods; Jaime is judged by men. Jon proves himself; Robb is betrayed. Tyrion learns the cost of weddings.

My thoughts: Well, in tonight’ episode… there was a lot of movement in the relationships of many of the characters.

1. In order to stop the Tyrell’s from marrying Sansa to their homosexual son, Tywin tells Tyrion that he will be marrying Sansa. He also told Cersei that she will be marrying Loras. Even as they protest, you know that these two kids have their hands tied. There is no way they can go against their father’s wishes, especially when he thinks so little of them. Of course, Tyrion’s marriage to Sansa will upset the Tyrells and Littlefinger, but they are in the same plight as Tyrion and Cersei.

2. After being called a crow and making the wildings a little less secure about Jon Snow’s loyalties, Ygritte forces Jon to follow her into a cave where a warm spring is. She stripps naked and he pounces and eventhough he is a “maiden” he proves that he has a magical tongue. As they jump into the water and Ygritte expresses that she longs to stay in this cave with Jon and for a brif moment you forget that everyone is in a state of war.

3. Robb is betrayed by the Karstarks when their leader kills the two young defenseless Lannisters that Robb was holding hostage. After disregarding the sound advice of his mother and wife, Robb hangs all of Lord Karstarks accomplices and chops off the Lord’s head. All looks lost for Robb, but then with the help of his wife he learns that he has one group to rely on and that is the family he was supposed to marry into. The general outlook for Robb’s current wife and even Robb himself is not really that great.

4. Stannis Baratheon returned home and eventhough there was a sketchy and odd exchange between he and his wife who is bonkers w/ grief over what she cannot give to Stannis, what was really interesting about this whole story line is that we got to meet his little girl. She was the bright spot of the episode, because even with knowing that her close friend, Davos, is a traitor and in a jail… she goes to the dungeon to check up on him and encourages him to allow her to teac him to read. Such a genuine moment.

5. Finally, Jaimie and Brienne reached a new level in their relationship when Jaimie confesses what spurred him on to kill the Mad King. There is a level of trust between these two that transcends whatever would have initially prohibited them from allowing each other to rely on one another so much. In hindsight, I wonder if Jaimie thinks that all of this madness that is happening (including the loss of his hand) around him could have been deterred if he just killed his father as the Mad King requested. Anywho, by disclosing this information, we finally understand how much this has weighed on Jaimie. This disclosure also changes how Brienne looks at Jaimie.

There was a touching moment between Arya and Bericas they spoke of his many resurrections and asks if it is possible to resurrect her father, which clearly shows that her father’s death is still an open wound.

This was a stellar episode and I cannot wait for next week’s…

Next time: Littlefinger continues his ascent. Tywin plans strategic unions for the Lannisters. Melisandre pays a visit to the Riverlands. Robb weighs a compromise to repair his alliance with House Frey. Roose Bolton decides what to do with Jaime Lannister. Jon, Ygritte and the Wildlings face a daunting climb.

Grimm: Recap of S.2:Ep.18 – Volcanalis and Promo/Synopsis of Endangered

Friday, April 26th, 2013

Synopsis: A fire-based Wesen threatens to bury Portland in lava, and only Nick can stop him. Meanwhile, Adalind finds someone to help her with her pregnancy.

My thoughts: We finally got some headway on two of the main story lines:

1. Juliette remembers her Nick and their past together. Unfortunately, before everything clicked in to place… she once again pushed Nick again after a car wreck. This ofcouse means that he probably has learned his lesson and will move on.

2. Adalind meets with the gypsies and tells them what the terms are for her handing over her royal/hexenbiest child and that is the return of her powers. If she does not get them back, than she will terminate her pregnancy.

Regarding Nick, Monroe and the Captain’s case, they ofcouse rid the world of the Volcanalis by freezing him and allowing one of the victims of the creature’s crimes to shatter him into hundreds of pieces. But, it really was not the highlight of the episode, that was all Juliette. Now that she has her memories back, will she go after Nick quickly or take her time because she still has no many questions.

We shall see…

Next time: Nick and Hank investigate a series of event that suggests that there are aliens in Portland, possibly within the Wesen community. Meanwhile, Juliette remembers her more romantic memories of her time with Nick before the coma.

Game of Thrones: S3:Ep.4 – And Now His Watch Is Ended and Synopsis and Promo of Kissed by Fire

Sunday, April 21st, 2013

Synopsis: Rules are broken at Craster’s keep and Daenerys hands over one of her dragons for the Unsullied army.

My thoughts: The remaining Crows are sick of Craster and their leader for being in the situation that they are in. Because they are at their wits end, they attack Craster. In this holy crap moment, not only have the Crows killed Craster, but they kill their boss. In a heroic and insane move, Samwell goes to rescue one of Craster’s daughter’s and his grandson. Let’s pray for these three.

Jaime is a shadow of himself now that he has lost his fighting hand (which he is forced to wear around his neck), but he still tries to defend himself. The only person that is taking pity on him is Brienne.  She urges him to stay strong to exact revenge, but when he whines she chastises him and that pushes him. This is a love-match, I’m telling you.

We also learn the truth about the extent of Lord Varys past and what he did in order to exact revenge on the sorcerer that tortured him as a child, which he uses as a lesson for Tyrion. But, Varys also learns that Littlefinger may have a plan for Sansa. Afterwards he goes to speak to Margaery’s Mom about Sansa. He tells her that Littlefinger has aspirations to become a king and Sansa is the key to his aspirations. Later on, Margaery approaches Sansa and tells her that once she is Queen, she will marry Sansa off to her brother and she can move to Highgarden. You see the conflict arising, don’t you? Too many people are looking out for Sansa and that just means she will get shafted in the end.

Podrick is still the talk of the town… where is the full frontal?

Joffrey continues to childishly woo Margaery. She in turn tries to make him become more extroverted as a King; this causes Cersei to be wary. She then goes to her father to see what the progress is in the search for Jaime. She then expresses her wariness of Margaery, but he throws it back into her face. He stated what we all thought, you suck as a Mother.

Greyjoy realizes that his true father was Ned Stark and since his passing he has made the worst decisions possible, of course he is then led back to his prison to be further tortured. Such is the luck for this guy, whose story-line should be done with already.

Regarding the youngest of the Starks, Bram tries his vision quest again and fails. Arya and the Brotherhood try Sandor for his crimes and he will have to fight for his life.

Finally, we learned the truth about why you should be afraid of women in power. Daenerys handed over her beloved dragon and got the whip. She then commands her army to kill everyone, but the children and to free the slaves. Her dragon kills the former leader of the Unsullied. Once the ashes have settled, she tells her army that those that no longer want to fight are free to leave, but she asks them if they will they fight for her and they back her…. She has her army. This is war.

Next time: Tywin makes new demands on his son, Tyrion.

Once Upon a Time: Recap of S2:Ep.19 – Lacey and Synopsis and Promo of the Evil Queen

Sunday, April 21st, 2013

Synopsis: David reluctantly agrees to help Gold restore Belle’s memories, but they discover that Regina has given the amnesiac princess a new set of memories. Meanwhile, when Emma learns that Anton has the means to take everyone back to the Enchanted Forest, she must decide which world to live in. In the fairy tale world, Rumplestiltskin forces Belle to accompany him on a hunt for a thief that she freed.

My thoughts: There is something magical about Belle-centric episodes. In this episode, in our world, Regina makes Belle think she is a barfly named Lacey. Gold than finds himself trying to woo Lacey in order to get her true memories back. Even as Lacey, she sees good in Gold and that give him hope. But, then she leaves him in the dust in the middle of her date to go canoodle with a guy from the bar.  She sees him attack the guy and that turns her on… they are turning into the couple that is always on Maury.

In the Fairy tale land, we look back at when Belle lived as Rumple’s servant in order to protect her kingdom from the ogres. Rumple is pissed at her because she helped Robin Hood escape. When he escaped he stole from Rumple and now Rumple is dragging Belle along for the pursuit. She sees that he is indeed a good man, when she leaves Robin Hood along as they learn that the reason Robin stole the wand was to heal Marian from her illness and sees that she is pregnant. Belle hugs him for his kind deed and you can see the change in his demeanor. This leads him to give her a library. Where is Peabo Bryson when you need him.

Now, this was all predicated by the fact that Gold is beside himself by the idea of offing Henry because he knows that it will end his relationship with his son, so he turns to Belle (while she is still in the hospital) for help.

It other Storybrooke news, Emma tipped off Regina about something happening. So, she follows the trucks tracks to the magic bean field… uh oh.

Also, Emma struggles with the idea of moving to Fairytale land and then there is the plotting of Tamara and Greg, who bring Hook back to Storybrooke to assist them in their attempt to take down this town.

Again, Belle and Rumple storylines are made to delight the viewers. I hope we see more of Robin, but I cannot wait to see what is up with the outsiders.

Next time:

Doctor Who: Recap of S7:Ep9 – Hide and Synopsis and Promo for Journey to the Centre of the Tardis

Sunday, April 21st, 2013

Synopsis: The Doctor and Clara meet the meet the mysterious Major Alex Palmer and psychic Emma Grayling at Caliburn House, who are in the midst of conducting a dangerous investigation into a spooky spectre known as the Witch of the Well. It is not long before the Doctor becomes involved in the ghost hunt, but the apparition might not be the only one with secrets.

My thoughts: For a brief moment I felt we were going to see some connection between the Christmas special where we met Clara for the first time, because if you recall in the special there was a haunted house and the house had a water feature that housed a creature that was tormenting the family that resided in the house. So, when we saw the ghostly figure in Hide, I for some reason kept thinking of Clara. But, I was proven wrong. What we got was a sci-fi-horror-gothic-romance. Yes, romance.  No, it was not between Clara and the Doctor. Nope… it was between two of the ugliest creatures that have ever graced the small screen and who were split apart due to space and time.

While the doctor bungee-jumped into a parallel universe to retrieve the lovelorn creature to bring it back to its love and to also bring back the missing greatx10 granddaughter of the Major and the psychic (who were forgettable), we were left to wonder if these stories of love mirrored Clara and the Doctor… To tell you the truth, there are so many trust issues between these two characters that in all honesty… why would anyone think that there would be any type of romance between them.

What the episode did give us was a unique take on what goes bump in the night in that scary looking house on the hill that everyone is told to avoid.

Next time: The TARDIS is on a countdown to disaster when it crashes, and the Doctor has 30 minutes to find Clara and stop an explosion that will destroy his ship.

TV Time: Recaps of the Latest Episode of The Vampire Diaries and Beauty and the Beast

Thursday, April 18th, 2013

Synopsis: Evan finally tells Cat he loves her but also reveals he’s the one who lead Muirfield to Vincent. Gabe discovers proof that someone in the department was feeding information to the vigilante.

My thoughts: This was really an interesting episode because it killed off a major player in the show. But, by doing so… it tied up one storyline nicely and that storyline revolved around Evan. Yes, the doc is dead, but not after learning the truth about Cat’s mother and about the intentions of Muirfield. After being mortally wounded, he gave up his life valiantly in order to give Cat and Vincent a head start on their escape form the goons of Muirfield.

There were a couple of revelations in the episode; Cat acknowledged that she and Vincent would never have a normal life because of Muirfield, but that they would stick it out together. We learned that whatever questionable light was on Cat was turned off because Evan took the rap for being a leak in the NYPD and we also learned that Gabe suffers from an ailment that forces him to take a multitude of meds.

Next time: Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) comes clean to Cat (Kristin Kreuk) that he knows about Muirfield. Vincent (Jay Ryan) does not think Cat should trust Gabe and is suspicious of his intentions, which causes tension between them. Meanwhile, JT (Austin Basis) and Vincent finally find a new place to live.

The Vampire Diaries: Recap of S4:Ep19 – Pictures of You and Synopsis and Promo for The Originals

Synopsis: After making a decision that infuriates Klaus, Elijah presents Rebekah with challenge that could change her life. Caroline is upset to discover that Elena has ruined her plans for the perfect Senior Prom, so she turns to Klaus for help. Determined to get through to Elena, Damon and Stefan both attend the prom, but they quickly lose control of the evening. When Elena suddenly behaves in a violent and unexpected way, Matt seeks Rebekah’s help. Finally, Bonnie uncovers some terrifying news, and Klaus receives a message that could change everything.

My thoughts: Yet another dance graces the auditorium of Mystic Falls High and yet again it is a game changer. This time, the dance is the senior prom and it goes awry from the get-go as Elena steals the dress off of Caroline’s back. Of course, the episode does not deal with the pettiness and cattiness of dress stealing alone. Nope, there is a lot at stake and it all revolves around the cure, Silas, and Elena’s soul.

Let’s start off with Elena. The Salvatores are hell bent on flipping on her humanity and they realize that after she is being tortured to the point of death by Bonnie that the one feeling she is still harboring is fear. So, after subduing her they lock her up in their dungeon. Yes, the two Salvatores are still in love with Elena, but they are willing to keep the feelings and fears of what’s to come on the backburner.

Silas appeared to Bonnie as Jeremy in order to sway her into his corner. He wants to die, but to do so all those have passed would come back. That means Jeremy, Alaric, Aunt Jenna, etc… Yet, Bonnie initially knows that this cannot happen… so she fights him and Elena off, but in doing so we see her power go bonkers. By the end of the episode we see her approach Silas and we see and learn that his visage was disfigured by a witch for not returning her affections. Remember at the beginning of the episode when Bonnie was wary of assisting Silas. By the end of the episode, she changes her mind.

Elijah convinces Rebekah to be human for a day, this would convince him of his sister’s desire to be human is genuine and that she fully understands what it entails. So, she buys a dress off the rack and goes to the prom alone and watches as Elena wreaks havoc on the dance. Throughout the episode Matt tells Rebekah that she is a horrible person and should not be given the shot to be a human. Yet, when April is once again almost killed (by Elena this time), Rebekah rises to the occasion and saves her. This changes Matt’s perception of her… but that was not the twist. Silas approached Elijah as Rebekah and got his grubby hands on the cure.

There was a bright and tender moment and that was Tyler’s return to Mystic Falls in order to spend prom night with Caroline at Matt’s. Of course, Klaus showed up as Tyler was trying to leave, but once again he gave him a head start. Such a softie.

Regarding Klaus, he got a note from Katerina that a witch in his old haunt of New Orleans was out to get him, which sets up next week’s pilot for The Originals.

Being Human: Recap of the Season Finale – Ruh Roh

Monday, April 8th, 2013

Synopsis: Liam shares a terrible truth with Josh and Nora. More of Aidan’s past is revealed as he deals with Kenny’s transformation and Kat discovering a terrible secret.

My recap: For a season finale, you have to admit that Being Human pulled out all the stops.

We got closure on the Liam storyline, or so we think, with an epic battle that left the biggest casualty of all, that being Josh. Here is a guy that at one time was repulsed by his werewolf-iness and is now embracing it. Is it because when he was turned the second time around it was by a purebred? Or is it because he has learned that it is better to embrace your curse instead of abhorring it?

Sally is once again a ghost and her body is back in her original grave and that should be it. She should be tied to the house and spending the rest of eternity slowly falling deeper and deeper in love with the handsome and messed up vampire that she resides with. Yet, when has it ever been easy for Sally? Nope, Donna has come back and has dragged Sally back down to what we can only assume is not a nice place. Will anyone notice that she is gone? Will they once again try to save her soul?

Aidan started off the episode in a swimmingly well good mood. He and Cat made sweet, sweet love and all was right in the world. But, his kid screams after he sees what he has become and on top of that his girlfriend found Sally’s body and she runs like a bat out of hell. Then, after Nora informs Liam that she was the one that killed his son and Aidan was just covering for her, Liam shows up and shoots him in the head. To top it all off, he lets go of his kid because he cannot do what is right and he now owes the one vampire that irritates him the most because she compelled Cat.

The biggest shocker was when we saw Aidan’s wife pop out of a cab.

Yea… it will be an insane 4th season, we just have to wait eight months to see it.
