And that, my friends, is how you end a season – True Blood Season Finale Recap

Sunday, August 26th, 2012

What a season! Kudos to the True Blood crew for giving us the best season we’ve ever had and we cannot wait to see the 6th season. We were not totally surprised by those that passed away, but we will most definitely miss Russell Edington. His crazy made us go crazy. With that stated, here is the complete list of characters that passed away during the season finale.

R.I.P.

Russell Edgington

J.D.

Chelsea the Receptionist

Salome

Rosalyn

Now, let’s get on with the recap!

Besides all the death and mayhem, I just want to first jump for utter joy because Eric was awesome tonight!

Between offing Russell:

Bickering with Jason:

Annoying Jason:

Protecting his progeny:

Sharing a moment with Pam:

Protecting Sookie:

Bothering his sister:

And attempting to save Bill from himself:

Eric had a banner night!

Other highlights of note:

Well, Maurella finally popped after ingesting a container of table salt and Andy did not only become a daddy to one bouncing baby girl, but 4:

Unfortunately for Andy and the somewhat understanding Holly, Maurella up and left and left the rearing of the babies to Andy as part of their pact. Nice parenting Maurella. God help you Andy. Btw, I wish child birth was that enjoyable, I would have had 50 kids if it was that orgasmic?

Sam and Luna continued to try to save Emma and they came up with the brilliant plan that consisted of Luna shifting  into Steve so she could smuggle Emma out of the Authority compound. It was going to work, but then Roslyn showed up and dragged whom she believed was Steve to do an interview for damage control. As expected, Luna turned back to her normal self and before Roslyn could get her mitts on her… Sam buzzed his fly self into Rosalyn’s mouth… if that’s not love than I don’t know what is.

The question for season 6 is… will Luna survive? Remember, every time a Shifter changes into a  another human the weaker they become mentally and physically.

The pack storyline was not my favorite, but it was completed (or so we think). So, we saw Alcide, his Dad and Emma’s grandmother go into the pack to get it back and set it on the straight and narrow. We watched Alcide pummel J.D. to death. Unfortunately, he had to ingest vampire blood to do so. The question is, is this the end of Alcide’s troubles or will we see him suffer the repercussions for what he did tonight in Season 6?

So the mystery of Warlo continues:

Big question for Season 6 is how does Nora know Warlo?

So, let’s go into the storyline that we saw coming and damn it… they are the best True Blood couple, hands down!

Jessica: Sookie could you get these doors?

Sookie: Oh right cuz ya’ll are vampires and these are silver doors duh

Sookie: *opens Jess’s door*

Sookie: *goes to open Pam’s door*

Tara: *fucking opens it anway*

Sookie:….Oh okay

Jessica:knew it

Where the official shipping of Para or Tam (Pam+Tara) was born tonight, Jessica totally lost Jason. Jason is in full on delusional mode. He is now being haunted by the hallucinations of his parents  and they are feeding him this ire that is coming from that deep seeded issue he has had with vampires since he found out that his parents were killed by Warlo. This has resulted in Jason hating all of vampdom and that includes Jessica.

Will Jessica reach the old Jason is Season 6 and save him from all this crazy-talk or will we see Jason end up killing Jessica? The torture…

Towards the end of the episode the group split, Eric and Sookie stayed behind to save Bill and the rest were escaping which is when we got a bonus scene (from HBO) and that was what was going on in the lift:

While everyone else is taking down the compound, Eric and Sookie go looking for Bill. They tried to make Bill understand that he was under the influence, but he was not going to give in and for a brief moment we thought we lost one of the key players in the True Blood universe.

We should know better now, because Alan Ball and the writers of HBO would not let that happen and we were given the biggest shock of the tv year!

All praise Billith…

The shit is on…

Season 6 is going to be amazing!

With that said…

and waiting sucks!

XOXO,

~M.

True Blood: Recap of Sunset = Lilith is Enemy #1

Sunday, August 19th, 2012

Hi All,

It’s Maria again and all I have to say is is that tonight’s Episode of True Blood was amazing. I know many of you are wondering where the show made a left turn? Yet, I think you are so entrenched in wanting your favorite characters to be the hero or have a happily ever after… that you forget what really is important in the long run and that is that the show has to be fun to watch.

In seasons past we were not fans at how True Blood wrapped up their seasons. They always petered out as the seasons drew to a close. The story arcs, this season, have been written in such a way that you didn’t feel cheated. As I stated before, the minor story lines were completed early on which gave the writers more time to focus on the main story lines which revolve around Sookie/Fae/Vampires, Eric/Nora vs. Lilith, Sam and Luna looking for Emma, Pam and Tara vs. The Authority and finally the Herveaux Pack issue.

Now, I get most of you are pissed off at Bill, but he is under the influence of enemy #1…

She is the equivalent of bath salts, who ever gets a taste of her ends up becoming a homicidal fundamentalist.

Lilith is not only under Bill’s skin, she is also under Salome’s skin.. Yet, Bill has taken it to a whole new level. Not only has he offed a fellow Authority member due to his jealous tendencies, but he also backhanded Jessica because she refused to turn Jason. These moments have made Bill shippers hate True Blood. I have to admit that Bill will have to do a lot to win everyone over again.

There were some great bits to tonight’s episode and I want to highlight the star of this season and that is Jason Stackhouse. What? You don’t think so? Well, this is a character that has yet again gone through the ringer. He came to the realization that sex is not the answer for everything, nor does it fix everything. He has also learned that friendships are a prized commodity and once you lose a friend, you feel like a ship without a sail. He also understands that he has to lead the charge, even when there is a chance he may not come out of it alive.

Which leads to the picture that had everyone going bonkers all week long:

Happily, Jason was not turned into a vampire in this episode, the aforementioned picture just showed us how Jessica duped two authority agents. Jason just played dead and with wooden bullets in his sidearm he offed the two agents and then he listened to Jessica explain to Jason that if she had a choice in who she would spend an eternity with… it would be with him. But, this would not deter Jason from what was really important and that was to protect his sister from the impending doom headed her way and that was Russell and Steve.

Later on Jason decided to go off and head Russell and Steve off at the pass. Unfortunately, Jason was overtaken by Russell and Steve:

These three together are some kind of awesome. We’ll return to this bit of story in a bit and I want to switch over to Pam and Tara.

Pam took the hit for Tara’s crime of killing off the new Sheriff of Area 5, but that was not the highlight that had me go “Yeah!” Yes, Jessica asked the question that we were wondering about:

Denying something so adamantly as Tara did tells you that she does harbor some kind of feeling for Pam. When Pam took the bullet for Tara, you know that the feeling is mutual. The question is… is this more parental love on Pam’s behalf or does she too kind of like her.

Jessica had asked Pam if she could use Fangtasia has a hideout, but that was short-lived. As I stated earlier in this post, Bill was not too pleased with his progeny when she did not follow through with turning Jason. Now we are wondering if she will make it to season 6.

Surprisingly, Nora and Eric are now on the same side and with being under so much stress and being under the watchful eye of the authority, they did what normal every day vampire siblings do to alleviate stress:

I have to preface this with the fact that that moment that led up to his scene was very intense and very tender, these two feel like they are the only two individuals in the world that know what the Authority is up to and the only ones that can stop the insanity.

Sam and Luna have made it into the Authority and they have seen Emma:

But then they were caught and Sam decided to come up with a scheme to protect Emma and Luna, who both stayed behind bars, and that was to become dinner for someone from the Authority’s upper echelons. Of course, now the Authority compound is the crossroads for a potential battlefield.

The faes were a major part of tonight’s episode, unfortunately all they managed to do was cause more crap to happen. Most notably with Russell Edgington. We meet the fae elder and after an interesting q&a with Sookie we learn that she cannot speak of Warlo, but when she learns about Russell still being alive… well it does not end well for the fae elder. Russell fed on her until she was dust and now he has his eyes set on the rest of the Fae clan of Bon Temps. Yes, it does not look good for Sookie.

Not only is Andy Bellefleur related to Bill Compton, but he just learned that he will be the baby daddy of a bouncing baby fae. He did not take it well because the last time he saw Maurella she did not look pregnant and that was a week ago (A week ago?!?!?!?!). Now the only reason he found this out was that Maurella decided to pop up at Merlotte’s to call in the pact she made with Andy. He tries to balk, but she tells him that it will be death if he does not follow through.

The last bit I want to highlight is the Herveaux clan, which is basically him and his Dad.

After spending the last couple of episodes wondering why Alcide had run off to be with his deadbeat of a Dad, we see the greatness of his father for the first time. When Alcide jumped into the fray to protect the locals from some baby vamps and then became overwhelmed, his Dad came to the rescue and saved Alcide.

Overall, the was another awesome episode and I cannot wait to see the finale.

Synopsis of Save Yourself: Eric makes a final and desperate attempt to bring down the Authority and, at the same time, save Bill from losing his humanity. Alcide gets ready for a second confrontation with JD. Sam and Luna must use all their resources in order to escape from the Authority. Andy must deal with the consequences of a deal he made.

What did you think of the episode?

True Blood: Recap of Sunset and Preview of the Season Finale’s Save Yourself

Recap from HBO:

Baby Vamp Jessica: Pam’s Halfway House for Wayward Baby Vamps

I feel like Little Orphan Annie. Only without Punjab and Miss Farrell. And my Daddy Warbucks turned out to be batshit. A phony. What are the odds? Crappy human parents AND a crappy maker… It just don’t seem fair. So here I am, stuck hiding in the basement of Fangtasia because I got nowhere else to go.

It’s funny how quickly things can change. How life can be so good and so rich and so perfect, and then it’s all swept away from you in an instant. First it was Hoyt. Those feelings I had for him — the love, the lightning — I woke up one day and they were gone. Nowhere to be seen or heard from ever again. And then this. Order in the vampire world just falling apart, my maker at the center of it all. It feels like only yesterday I was partying with those UNL kids, making out with Jason, feeding from hot guys whenever I felt like it. And now I’m just trying to make it through the night in Pam’s Halfway House for Wayward Baby Vamps.

I hope Tara really does bring me a fangbanger…

True Blood’s Kristin Bauer van Straten Gives Us a Bit of Insight into Pam and Tara

Kristin Bauer Van Straten as Pam on HBO's True Blood

Recently, TVFanatic interviewed Kristin Bauer van Straten about her character on the popular show True Blood and on an upcoming project that focuses on the endangered species of Africa. Here are some of the questions and answers that we think will give some insight into Pam and Pam’s relationship with her maker, Eric, and her progeny, Tara.

The scene where Eric released Pam as his progeny had fans reaching for tissues. I read once you said Alexander Skarsgard likes to make fun of you all the time for crying on set. What was that scene like to shoot and did Alex poke some fun at you to lighten the mood?
Anyone who has known me for more than an hour quickly realizes that I just cry a lot. Alex one time asked me what is it that triggers these emotions, like a particular scene. Because he was trying to figure it out and I started crying before I could even tell him. It’s the triumph of the human spirit I finally was able to tell him.

At the table read I cried, at rehearsal I cried. Normally you save it up for when the camera is on your face but since I had been crying so much my nose was already all red and runny, but Alex assured me they would make my snot match the color of my blood tears. It was such a sad scene, though. Usually you need to keep a thought of your dead dog in your mind during those scenes, but this scene was just seamless. I’ve done a lot of guest stars and and a lot of acting and sometimes you just have to make the words work, but not on this show. The characters have evolved over five seasons in such a slow build, it’s been really great.

One of my favorite aspects of this season has been the relationship between Pam and Tara. How has that new development been to explore for you and Rutina Wesley.
It has been super fun for both of us. I didn’t really know Rutina and she has been so great to work with because she really cares about the scene and the relationship and I think she is having so much fun being a super. For example, she was really excited about Comic-Con and I thought that seemed funny because she has been multiple times before but she said ‘yeah, but I’ve never been as a vampire!”

It was so, so cute. Comic-Con is such a great opportunity to put faces with our fans instead of just Googling our ratings. We are all just really grateful to all the fans out there. I think we probably have the best fans of any show.

I couldn’t help but notice the proud look on your face a couple of episodes ago after Tara told off her former classmate at Fangtasia.
I’m so glad that came through in the scene. Rutina and I really work to find those tiny little moments of connection.  I am looking for this motherly quality in the most untraditional manner and the respect and care for her is really growing based on the moments when Pam sees how similar she and Tara are. They both come from a rough background, as we got to see in Pam’s flashbacks this season.

I’m glad you brought that up. The revelation of how Eric and Pam met was one of the best moments of the season. Were you excited to delve deeper into Pam’s origins?
Alex and I waited years for that. As an actor I had so many questions as to how to play this character. I was always trying to make up this backstory in my head.

This past week we were forced to watch as Pam was thrown off her own stage at Fangtasia. What can you tell us about the aftermath of that scene and what it means for Pam going forward?
I’ve been asking all year if Pam was going to get sucked into this Authority thing and how would it affect her world. As we now have seen she and Tara are now being pulled in and it wreaks havoc on their lives. The new sheriff, Elijah, announced to her that Eric was history but she had no idea just what that meant for her maker.

The stakes are just getting higher and higher. Pam is a tough girl but doesn’t want to go forward without Eric so she takes action. Pam’s whole existence, her entire world, is in jeopardy but the bond between her and Tara will be strengthened in the remaining episodes as things get really intense.

Bauer is also set to produce a documentary about Africa and endangered species that reside there. I asked her about the cause and the ways in which she’s hoping to illuminate it…

While filming this last season of the show, I’ve watched rhinos go extinct in the wild with the only remaining specimens having to be kept in sanctuaries under armed guard for their protection and I’m seeing the same atrocities happen to elephants at alarming rates. I just wanted to see what I could do to help these people in Kenya who are trying to prevent this. I had to make a real choice during this hiatus from True Blood: do I want to work on more acting and stay around home working on my gardening and playing with my fur-babies?

Or do I want to try to make a difference and know that if nothing else, I tried?

So I tried to make it really fun for everyone to try and help save a species, so on the Kickstarter.com site I continue to put up a number of True Blood giveaways. Everything from a Pam tee shirt to a dinner for a fan with me and Joe Manganiello.

True Blood: Kristin Bauer van Straten Hints at Love for Pam

Friday, August 3rd, 2012

Kristin Bauer van Straten discussed Pam’s love life with InStyle Magazine and said the following:

“I’ve had a love interest off-screen, where I sort of did something I can’t say in a PG interview on top of a desk.” That said, she hinted her fictional love life will move more in front of the camera soon. “But, I’m looking forward to having a love interest and I’m looking forward to seeing who can capture Pam’s eye,” she said. “I suspect that she will be a she.” Just like the books—but maybe better!

Do you think it is Tara or someone new?

Highlights and low-lights of True Blood’s Somebody that I used to know…

Sunday, July 29th, 2012

We interrupt the Men’s Swimming Olympic coverage with a little visual recap of True Blood’s Somebody I Used to Know.

The best storyline of the episode had to be that of Sam and Luna. As Sam went off on his quest to ride Bon Temps of it’s Supes Serial Killers, Luna started to lose it and eventually lost herself externally… that is.

Watching Luna as Sam walk around with his/her butt out and then Sam/Luna and Sam almost kiss had us in stitches and falling even more for this coupling.

Now, since kids go to this site, I will only have a still image of the scene that had many a women repeat over and over again:

Next up, Pam and Tara’ relationship keeps moving forward and for the better:

There was a bitter-sweet moment and that revolved around Lafayette:

These two had the best relationship and unfortunately these moments between Lafayette and the spirit that is Jesus are not enough for the fans.

Awwwww…

The funniest moment revolved around the vampire that we all love to hate and the former preacher that had the hots for Jason:

There two will be fuckbuddies in no time…

Craziest moment is that of the mysterious vampire that killed Sookie’s parents and is now after Sookie:

Most unfortunate moment revolved around Bill. Bill, when did you become so easily swayed by which way the wind blows????

What was your highlight and your low-light moment in tonight’s episode of True Blood?

P.S.

True Blood Fun Fact #69 – Albert Einstein was a Hafling (Half Fae/Half Human).

Pics from True Blood’s Next Episode: Somebody That I Used to Know

Friday, July 27th, 2012

While the rest of the world is focusing on the unfortunate break-up of a young couple, we have some pics from the upcoming episode of True Blood (Courtesy of HBO). In the episode, Sookie and Jason visit where the faeries say their parents were supposedly killed by vampires. Bill begins having flashbacks. Sam and Luna become stuck. The Authority celebrate their new chosen direction. This is the episode all the fans have been anticipating because it is the episode that Stephen Moyer directed.

Ep. 54 – Inside the Episode

From Babyvamp Jessica:

Small Town Blues
July 15, 2012

n a place like Bon Temps, you can’t avoid the dreaded run-in with the ex. No matter how you prepare yourself for it, it’s never going to go as smoothly as you hoped. He’s never just going to say it’s nice to see you, you seem good, and then be on his merry way. He will find the most irritating button he possibly can, and then push it like twelve times with a shit eating grin on his face that makes you want to sock him right in the kisser.

But you can’t sock him right in the kisser, you know why? Because you’re bound to see him again. Especially if he’s got it in his head that he’s some sorta fangbanger who belongs hanging around bars like Fangtasia, places that are supposed to be your territory and not his.

I’ve learned something very important from this experience: serious relationships will only lead to break ups, which will only lead to awkward and infuriating situations like this one. So I’m thinking it’s about time to cool things off with Jason. Do I want to? No. He’s got the most ridiculous abs. But I don’t want to risk having two guys in this town I have to avoid. Bon Temps is wayyyyy too small for that. But sometimes we have to do things we don’t wanna do. I guess that’s the price you pay for living in a one-horse town.
