Spoiler time: The Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time and The Walking Dead

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

The Vampire Diaries: We will be seeing a couple of old faces and a new one (Silas’ true face, partially that is) in the coming weeks. We know that one will be Jeremy Gilbert, but what about…? I feel like Tyler is an obvious choice, but you can never tell with this show. We will also find out why Klaus and Haley are so connected. Plus, the kids of Mystic Falls will be facing the dreaded question of what will they do next with their lives.

It took us a couple of episodes to realize that Sonequa Martin Green portrayed two key character in Once Upon a Time and in The Walking Dead. Yes, many of us were wondering once she was promoted to series regular on The Walking Dead what would happen to Once’s Tamara. Apparently, due to unique shooting schedules, it seems that we will see Sonequa on both shows for the time being.

Once Upon a Time: Recap of Selfless, Brave and True and the Promo for Lacey

Sunday, March 24th, 2013

Synopsis: While Mary Margaret attempts to come to terms with her part in Cora’s death, she finds August. Meanwhile, Neal’s fiancee Tamara comes to Storyrbrooke. Meanwhile, in the fairytale world, August tries to find a way to preent himself from turning back into a wooden boy.

My recap: Well, this episode kind of jumped the shark for me.

Mmmmmm…. how?

Let’s back track. This episode’s arc on August a.k.a. Pinocchio, was quite interesting because it gave us some insight on the whereabouts of August pre-2011. He was in Phuket and living the life, until he awakens to the feeling of his leg turning into wood as he laid beside a lady of ill repute. He goes to meet a medicine man about what can be done. In exchange for something that he holds dear and $10,000 US, he will assist August. Of course, August is broke. Then walks in a lady who has the funds, but she needs it for her terminal cancer. August, in desperation, steals steals her money and goes back to the medicine man named the Dragon. August got his cure, but then the woman he stole from tracks him down and gets it back… but there is more to this woman. Anywho, August leaves and tracks down Neal and then heads back to Storybrooke in 2011.

Fast forward to the present and Mary Margaret finds that August has been living in a trailer in the forest outside of Storybrooke. Guess who else is in town, the same lady that he stole from in Phuket. Now she is engaged to Neal. Yes… yes… her name is Tamara.

She offers August the remainder of  the cure, but it is in NYC, in exchange for him to high-tailing it out. Guess what, he leaves Storybrooke, but some stops him and he goes back to alert Emma and everyone else. Yet, the lady catches him and stun guns him and when he is about to die, he tries to warn everyone – Emma, David, Mary Margaret and Gepetto. But, he dies and  then magically the blue fairy shows up and because August acted selflessly, brave and true she could save him and transform him back… to the human little boy that we all know and love. Of course, he has no recollection of what had happened or who tried to kill him.

Now, Regina remembers Greg and tells him that his father disappeared, but he does not believe her. So, she tells him to leave. So, we wait to see him leave, but this woman shows up and it is Tamara. That’s right, she is in everyone’s pants. But her motivation is clear… she wants magic and if there ever was a person that would be just as evil and as motivated as Regina, it would be Tamara.

There were two resolutions in the episode and they are that Emma and Henry have made amends and the other is that Mary Margaret told David about what happened between her and Regina.

So, why did I think this episode jumped the shark…  I get Greg’s motivation to take out Storybrooke, but Tamara is just this character that came out of the blue and in all honesty, I would have preferred to see another “fairy tale” character.

Next time: This show goes on hiatus for three weeks and on the 21st of April, here is the promo for Lacey:

Spoiler Time: The Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time, Supernatural, Game of Thrones, The Originals, Arrow, Hemlock Grove

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

After watching her revel in her lack of humanity, it is surprising that Elena from The Vampire Diaries will do anything to get the cure, even kiss…?

Once Upon a Time is casting the potentially recurring role of Felix, the tough, natural born leader of a “sinister group of boys.”

Supernatural’s Castiel will have “a role to play” in Sam’s trials, but as always, he will be pursuing his own objectives that are not on the same path as Sam and Dean’s… which will most definitely cause some ire for the trio.

When Daenerys visits Slaver’s Bay, in Game of Thrones, to recruit help for her quest to reclaim the Iron Throne, another attempt will be made on her life. Never fear though. We won’t lose the dragon mother that easily. A familiar face arrives unexpectedly to save her, and this person could provide important insight into her enemy.

Joseph Morgan stated that The Originals spin-off will not be a carbon copy of The Vampire Diaries, so no love-triangle.

The finale of the CW’s Arrow will include a “seminal moment in Oliver’s evolution on the island,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim stated, he noted that the climax of the season in flashback will be as pivotal as the one in present day. “What’s Fyres up to, where do Yao-Fei’s allegiances lie, why is Shado on the island, the missile launcher that you saw at the end of Episode 16; all these things will get paid off in the last episode of Season 1.”

Here are some sneak peeks of Netflix’s Hemlock Grove:

All 13-episodes of Netflix Original Series “Hemlock Grove” arrive exclusively on Netflix on April 19. The Monster Is Within. http://nflx.it/15kDCRF

From director Eli Roth, developed by Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman, with Famke Janssen (“X-Men”), Bill Skarsgård (“Simon & The Oaks”), Landon Liboiron (“Terra Nova”), Penelope Mitchell (“6 Plots”), Freya Tingley (“X”), and Dougray Scott (“Mission Impossible II”). Sexy, gripping, emotional and twisted, Hemlock Grove is unlike anything else you’ve ever seen.

Spoiler Time: Once Upon a Time and Beauty and The Beast

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

Here’s a few spoilery bits from a couple of shows we love to watch:

First …

The deets on Once Upon a Time‘s finale – The ABC fantasy hit is currently casting three 16-year-old boys who are part of a sinister group. The leader Felix is tough, while the other two are identical twins and all three roles could becoming recurring. Hmm…could we be meeting the Lost Boys?!

And finally …

The latest scoop on Beauty and the Beast  Sounds like Beauty and the Beast is hopping on the Star Wars train because soon they’ll be introducing Chewy! Obviously it’s not actually Chewbacca, but there is a character named Chewy who will first hit on Catherine, and then try and beat her up, and then threaten her life. And that’s just the first scene with him. All in a day’s work as a really attractive detective.

TV Time: Recaps and Reviews of the The Vampire Diaries, Beauty and the Beast, Grimm, Once Upon a Time and the Walking Dead

Sunday, March 17th, 2013

In The Walking Dead, we got to see probably the scariest episode of the season as Andrea finally realized that the Governor had officially gone off the deep end and as a result of this knowledge she attempts to escape Woodbury so she can go back to the prison and give everyone the head’s up about how bonkers the Governor is. Unfortunately, the Governor decides to, at first, find Andrea and coerce her to come back to Woodbury and when that fails… he decides to hunt her down like prey. She almost makes it to the prison, but the governor caught up to her. Now she is sitting in the Governor’s torture room awaiting her punishment for turning her back on the Governor.

Remember, this torture room was set-up for Michonne, but after what Andrea put him through… she will get his wrath.

The Governor also has to contend with Milton that he suspects torched his biters. Prior to this, he had suspected Tyrese and his sister because they were questioning the methods of the Governor and his posse.

Will Andrea and Milton make out alive?

Can you believe that there are only two episodes left?

Next week: In the Sorrowful Life, Rick and the group are faced with a serious problem. If they want a truce with the Governor, they will have to make a huge sacrifice.

In Once Upon a Time, we learned what happened at the beginning of Storybrooke’s existence in the real world and we also learned the connection that Greg has to the beginning of Storybrooke.

The beginning gave us a chance to see our beloved Sheriff Graham again. Oh, how I miss you. But, we also saw a side to Regina that we’ve only seen maybe once or twice.

Here we are, in a new existence and I am the Mayor. But, something is off… there are two people not of our world in town. They are a Dad and Kid that got stuck in the woods when the town appeared. First reaction, kill them off. But, then the little boy appreciated me for my kindness and understanding. So, it stands to reason that I will make them stay. What do I do if the Father protests? Throw in jail, of course. Then, I can have the little boy all to myself.

Yea, it does not work out in the end for Regina because she cannot have the little boy hate her and she lets the boy go…. This boy is Greg, who has come back to find his father and he is willing to take this town down.

While this is going on, Henry is hell bent on getting rid of magic. Why? Because he feels that magic has screwed up his family. His Grandmother Snow killed his Great Grandmother Cora and now his adopted Mother, Regina, wants to kill his Grandmother Snow. He also cannot trust his biological Mother, Emma, because she lied about his father and he has an idea that his Grandfather Rumple does not like him. Yea, that is a lot for a kid to handle. Of course, his plan falters but he got Regina to leave Snow alone.

What Henry does not know is that Snow is going to the dark side and Regina knows it. She is now just biding her time because she feels that this will enable her to have her power and her Henry back.

Will we get to see the Sheriff again?

Is Regina right about Snow?

Next time: In Selfless, Brave and True, a woman’s destiny unfolds as the only hope for a town where fairytale characters live under a spell.

On Grimm, we see the aftermath of Nick taking the solution that would enable Juliette and Renard to not be so obsessive with one another. Juliette is now haunted by some kind of electrical phantom that is torturing her… is that the burden of knowing so much? Even with this happening, she seems like her old self when she talks to him briefly on her cell. Does this mean that they will make amends and be back to the cute couple that they once were? I do not think so…

The majority of the episode dealt with Nick and Hank dealing with a trio of Wesen on a bank robbing scream. The crime spree was so bad that Rosalee had to call the Wesen Council to take care of this issue at hand. Apparently, Rosalee’s family has had some kind of power in this world and she can ask for assistance in order to protect the veil of secrecy from the human world.

The only other main interesting point is the uneasy treaty between Renard and Nick. Yet, it seems that as long as they have a common goal these two will be able to work together for the foreseeable future.

Next Week: In Mr. Sandman, Nick must face a new Wesen that leaves his victims blind.

When we last left Elena, on The Vampire Diaries, she had lost her humanity and now we see what that means for all those around her. It is not pretty and she has decided to pin all her ire on poor Caroline. Caroline also had to contend with the fact that Tyler was not going to return as long as Klaus was alive. As a result of this decision, he left his house to Matt and told Caroline that he would always love her.

While Damon and Rebekah try to get a lead on Katherine, they come across a vampire from Damon’s past that had been bitten by Klaus. He felt sympathy for his and killed him. Yet, it sparked some kind of memory in Damon because by episode’s end he takes Elena to NYC.

When will Matt leave?

Will Stefan and Caroline find solace in one another?

Will Elena get her humanity back in NYC?

Next time: In Because the Night, realizing that Elena needs some time away from Mystic Falls, Damon takes her to New York City, where he lived and partied hard in the 1970s. When Rebekah also shows up in New York, she’s impressed with Elena’s secret agenda. Flashbacks reveal Damon’s hedonistic life in the underground club scene and a complicated encounter with Lexi (guest star Arielle Kebbel). Meanwhile, Caroline and Stefan try to convince Klaus that it would be in his own best interest to help them track Silas down, and Bonnie struggles to keep her grasp on reality and do the right thing.

In Beauty and the Beast, We see Vincent is utterly afraid of what might happen and therefore he has decided to put the brakes on his relationship with her. Why even pursue her? But, by episode’s end they find out that he indeed can control his beast and then they make sweet, sweet love…

The ADA and NYPD  has created a task force to capture theVigilante that has apparently been terrorizing the city. But, it will take a lot for Cat and Vincent to change the tide, the guy in charge of the task force is as underhanded as Muirfield is. When their plan falters, convincing a loan shark to tell the truth about what he saw when Darius was killed, their hope begins to slip. Now, the only reason the plan faltered was because the ADA killed him. As you can see, it is getting messier and messier.

Regarding Muirfield, even though Evan is working with them… they only use him for his scientific expertise, but he wants to do more and this shows how he slowly is getting deeper and deeper and may lose Cat forever by doing so.

Next time: In Insatiable, Muirfield and the police close in on Vincent. Meanwhile, Tess finds something that alters her relationship with Cat.
