Network blurb: VINCENT’S IDENTITY IS THREATENED — Vincent (Jay Ryan) is torn between his new feelings for Cat (Kristin Kreuk) and his old memories with Alex (guest star Bridget Regan). J.T. (Austin Basis) learns that Evan (Max Brown) is planning to propose a task force to catch the beast and must figure out how to stop him. Meanwhile, Tess (Nina Lisandrello) investigates the mysterious skydiving death of the wife of a billionaire adventurer, while Cat remains off duty until she recovers from being shot.

My recap: I know that Vincent being torn between the love of his past (Alex) and the woman he has been falling for over the last few weeks (Cat) is really difficult for Vincent. But, when is he just going to make a decision.

The clever bit about tonight’s episode was that all the women showed a new side to themselves. Alex is willing to go the extra mile (drop her towel in front of Vincent), Cat opens up to her therapist and makes a break through that enables her to proclaim her love for Vincent, Evan’s girlfriend actually works for Muirfield (Who saw that coming? Not me.), and Tess is still the sassy and lovelorn partner to Cat that brings some much needed levity.

Yes, Vincent did almost get found out. Yet, it was the realization by both these women that there is a lot going on between Vincent and the other woman in his life that is making us mentally prepare for the worst in this story arc.

I loved seeing Even and J.T. work together and even though they are on opposite sides of the road when it comes to why they are researching “the creature,” it is interesting to see some movement in their story lines, other than J.T. being a roommate for Vincent and Evan waiting for Cat to look at him.

Overall it was a cool little soap opera-ish episode.

Synopsis of Cold Turkey: Cat (Kristin Kreuk) suspects Muirfield might know Vincent’s (Jay Ryan) whereabouts and in spite of her vow to go cold turkey, she is forced to interrupt his romantic cabin getaway with Alex (guest star Bridget Regan) in order to save their lives. Meanwhile, Evan (Max Brown) finds a bug in his lab and becomes increasingly suspicious of J.T. (Austin Basis).

Network Blurb: Vincent barely escapes being caught by his former fiancée, Alex and must deal with the repercussions of his past. While Cat is in the hospital, she is forced to confront her feelings for Vincent. Meanwhile, J.T. gets a surprising visitor asking about old research he did on mutant DNA.

My Review: We finally learn a little bit about Vincent outside of the military and that is that he was just a good guy that was in love with a nurse named Alex. How do we learn this bit of info? When Cat was in that car accident, she was rescued by Vincent (took her out of the wreckage and then ran off) and Evan (who helped her breathe after her lungs collapsed). Evan had her taken to New York General (which does not exist) and do you know who her nurse is? Alex. Guess who popped up to check up on Cat? Vincent. Guess who sees Vincent, a man that she loved? Alex. This just screams Cat getting kicked in the shin.

Now, knowing that anyone who recognizes him gets followed by the secretive black ops people that are out to secure him, he still goes and sees Alex. It is so obvious that he still cares for Alex and this has left him torn between Cat and Alex.

The rub is… when Cat finds out the truth (via a box of pictures) about Vincent and Alex’s past, his reaction is a bit idiotic. Why? Because he has been trying to make this thing between him and Cat something that toes the line of becoming a romance and when she talks to him about his relationship with Alex, he has the audacity to scold her?

Don’t get me started, because I am the first to tell you that there is a willing and able man named Evan wanting to be Cat’s better half.

Now, this was not the only thing going on with Vincent. Via a discussion between Evan and J.T., we come to learn that Vincent is genetically evolving. Does this mean we will have our furry Vincent by series end?

Eve though I sound irritated, I liked this episode and it revolved around the soap opera-esque storyline. I just want to see Cat meet the guy that will make Vincent regret deciding to go see Alex.
