Well, it seems like Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ star is on the rise, not only does this one time troubled actor have a show on NBC, but he is in talks to star in the 7th episode of the Star Wars saga which will be helmed by J.J. Abrams. Who the character is, no one knows.
Regarding J.J. Abrams, after the success of Star Trek Into Darkness it was not a surprise to hear that we will indeed have a third installment in the rebooted Star Trek franchise. We have heard Damon Lindelof toss around his thoughts on who will be the new bad guy in the new movie.
I am sorry that this season is coming to a close, but I loved that we were given a roller-coaster of a season which was filled with haw-dropping highlights. The story lines ranged from the usual supernatural crime procedural cases that were intertwined with the loss of Juliette’s memory, the love story of Rosalee and Monroe, Hank getting in on the Wesen action and Reynard’s on-going family issues, all of which left us in utter amazement at each and every episode’s end. This season also made viewers become experts to the mythos of Grimm, so much so that German is starting to make sense to all of us…
We should give the crew behind this show a round of applause for a banner season.
Synopsis: Just when things look like they’re back to normal with Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), Nick (David Giuntoli) is called to investigate a flurry of rage-fueled assaults happening all over Portland. He goes to Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) for help battling Portland’s newest wave of ‘undead.’ As if that weren’t enough, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) informs Nick that his brother Eric (guest star James Frain) is in town on family business. Meanwhile, Stefania (guest star Shohreh Aghdashloo) and Frau Pech methodically use their alliances with Adalind (Claire Coffee) to battle one another. Russell Hornsby and Reggie Lee also star. It seems like the networks are betting on Hollywood’s kings of the cinema for the 2013/2o14 TV season. The latest project coming to the small screen is from the minds of J.J. Abrams and Alfonso Cuarón and will be on NBC.
Levitation, telekinesis, the ability to control nature, even predict the future… Since she was two years old, Bo has had gifts she could neither fully understand, nor control. Raised by a small group known as the “True Believers,” the orphaned girl has been safeguarded from harmful outsiders who would use her forces for personal gain. But now that she is 10, her powers have become stronger, and the threat has grown more dangerous. With her life and future now in jeopardy, the “Believers” turn to the only person they see fit to be her full-time protector. That is, once they break him out of jail. Tate, a wrongfully imprisoned death row inmate who’s lost his will, is initially reluctant – until he witnesses one of her extraordinary abilities. Bo sees people for who they truly are… and who they may become. Tate and Bo begin their journey, one in which trust must be earned. Traveling from city to city, every place they stop and everyone they meet will be changed forever. But they’ll have to keep going to stay one step ahead of the sinister forces after Bo’s power… because it will take a miracle to keep them safe forever. The powers of a young girl may hold the fate of our world in Believe.
So, as we suspected, NBC is creating its own version of a supernatural night of programming. The magical night is the much maligned Friday night and they will couple Grimm with two limited series’.
At 9:00 pm they will air Grimm and at 10:00 pm they will air Dracula in the fall and Crossbones at the mid-season mark.
Dracula – Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (“The Tudors”) stars in this provocative new drama as one of the world’s most iconic characters.
It’s the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night – useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: he hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan… until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
From the producers of the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning hit “Downton Abbey” comes “Dracula,” a twisted, sophisticated and sexy take on Bram Stoker’s classic novel, proving that some stories never die. One-hour drama.
Crossbones – It’s 1715 on the Bahamian island of New Providence, the first functioning democracy in the Americas, where the diabolical pirate Edward Teach, a.k.a. Blackbeard (John Malkovich), reigns over a rogue nation of thieves, outlaws and miscreant sailors. Part shantytown and part marauder’s paradise, this is a place like no other on Earth – and a mounting threat to international commerce.
To gain control of this fearsome society, Tom Lowe, a highly skilled undercover assassin, is sent to the buccaneers’ haven to take down the brilliant and charismatic Blackbeard. But the closer Lowe gets, the more he finds that his quest is not so simple. Lowe can’t help but admire the political ideals of Blackbeard, whose thirst for knowledge knows no bounds – and no law. But Lowe is not the only danger to Blackbeard’s rule. He is a man with many villainous rivals and one great weakness – a passionately driven woman whom he cannot deny.
From the award-winning creator of “Luther,” Neil Cross, and award-winning executive producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald (“Gladiator,” “Men in Black”) comes an extraordinary action adventure with an unexpected moral center where one can’t be sure whether the pirates or the British crown are the villains. One-hour drama.
This was kind of a shocker for me, but it’s a go for NBC’s Dracula…
As we stated earlier in the pilot season, Dracula is based on Bram Stoker’s novel of the same name, the 10-episode series finds Dracula preparing to unleash hell on the Victorian society responsible for ruining his life. But he’s thrown when he falls for a woman who’s a dead ringer for his beloved, long-deceased wife.
The show stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jessica De Gouw, Katie McGrath, and Nonso Anozie.
Will Dracula be coupled with Grimm for a “Supernatural: Tuesday night? We shall see.
Believe: Starring Johnny Sequoyah as Bo and Jake McLaughlin as Tate. The series revolves around a little orphan girl named Bo. Since Bo turned two she has mastered levitation, telekinesis, and the ability to control nature and even predict the future. She’s been raised by a small group known as True Believers, who safeguarded her from “harmful outsiders who would use her forces for personal gain.”
As the year progresses we will update this section with new books that we think you will like.
