Movie News: Star Wars VII has a Writer… and he Wrote Little Miss Sunshine
Friday, November 9th, 2012Lucasfilm confirmed that award-winning writer Michael Arndt will write the screenplay for the new Star Wars film. Kathleen Kennedy and George Lucas have begun story conferences with Arndt. If you do not know Arndt, he won an Academy Award® for Best Original Screenplay for writing Little Miss Sunshine (2006) and was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for writing Toy Story 3 (2010).
Just so you know, Arndt had written a treatment for the next three movies in the Star Wars saga prior to the Disney buyout.
Wouldn’t it be funny if the new Star Wars movie had a quirky, romantic twist? The riots that it will cause. George Lucas should move away… far, far away…
With that said, Empire Strikes Back was written by a group of writers that had expertise in different genres and that movie is considered to be the best movie in the series.
Keep your fingers crossed Star Wars fans.
I know I am.
