Synopsis: Bo’s much-needed night off goes off course when she ends up on a scavenger hunt in a lawless Dark Fae territory. Elsewhere, Trick finds himself in a dangerous situation.
My recap: Bo finally got the invitation for the Dawning, unfortunately she was on a quest after entering an agreement with a dark fae who is in search of a teen fae. The dark fae wants this teen to be rescued from a wild group of dark fae and placed in a X-men like school. Trick, because he is her closest blood relative makes a series of decisions on Bo’s behalf as the invitation continuously asks the invitee a series of questions that will dictate whether or not Bo will be able to even attempt the dawning.
The best bit of the episode revolved around Trick and Stella as they attempted to help Bo with their decision-making. There is obviously an attraction and a kinship between the two of them, but what is always top of mind for these two is Bo.
Most intriguing bit revolved around the tarot card for the Wanderer. For some odd reason this card brings a feeling of foreboding and it is the one card that Bo keeps picking. What it means in this universe… who knows?
Regarding Bo’s love life, let’s just say that she and Lauren are on shaky ground. These two care for one another, but they are on two different paths. On the other hand, Tamsen has shown that she may be more invested in Bo than what we had originally expected and we learned that when she kissed Bo. Also, we now know that Dyson is still at the forefront of Bo’s mind.
Overall, this was a great episode and Kenzi was not really that missed, which is kind of surprising.
Next time: Reality and fantasy converge as Bo confronts her ultimate challenge. Trick dreads the meaning of something he sees.
Summary: Trick calls in an expert to help Bo with her coming dawning, but Bo isn’t thrilled about what she asks her to do. However after talking with Lauren, Bo gives in and goes back home to confront her mother.
My recap: We have always wondered about Bo’s past. Yes, we knew about being adopted and being raised in a small town and leaving it after accidentally killing a boy after she made out with him. Yet, we never really met her parents and in tonight’s episode we got the chance to meet the woman that drove her off.
At first, we are kind of perplexed because this woman that stands before Bo is uber sweet and mighty obliging to both her and Kenzi. Yet, when a fae that is terrorizing Bo’s a.k.a. Beth’s peers after it was released via a fire. She, with the help of Kenzi and an old friend, traps the fae, but it was what happened afterwards that made this episode so heartbreaking.
The reason she went home was to forgive her mother (which would enable her to cross the threshold that would allow her entry to the temple) and even though this woman is not acting like the woman that shunned her, but is acting like the loving and caring movie that raised her… Bo forgives her and makes her understand that she has a new family that has her back and that she loves her, but she will never see her again. Bo turns and walks away from her past with her shoulders free of all the angst that she had been carrying for years.
What we also learned is that Kenzi is still traumatized from what she had gone through and she is not willing to talk about it, but when Bo asks her about why she had gone to the Norm… she and the viewers were left holding their breaths.
Will, Dyson’s secret come out and what does that mean for Bo? I hope so.
It was also very cute to see Trick wanting to woo a lady…
Next Time: What was meant as a much-needed night off for Bo grows into a scavenger hunt in a lawless Dark Fae territory. In Bo’s absence, Trick is placed in a precarious position with potentially dire consequences.
Summary: As Bo spirals out of control, her friends have to intervene. Bo accepts help from an unlikely source to save a loved one and while doing so – Bo learns the truth. My recap: We finally see an end to the Bad-Kenzi storyline. Yes, we have our Kenz back, but not after watching Faux-Kenz make the crew lose faith in Bo. The hardest to take was that of Lauren, that cut deep for Bo. However, surprisingly, it was Tamsen that came to rescue of our favorite succubus. She not only broke Bo out of holding, but she helped Bo track Kenzi down after finding out what the Fauz=Kenz was, she also fed Bo and is keeping her from the clutches of the Morrigan. Yes, there is something going on with Tamsen and we cannot wait to see this Valkyrie fess up her true intentions.
I think the most off-putting sequence revolved around Faux-Kenz putting the moves on the beloved wolf-boy, Dyson. We cringed as she rubbed up on the sleeping Dyson and became utterly ecstatic when Dyson killed this fae.
Now, we did learn something new about Bo’s deteriorating condition (which is masking the pregnancy of Anna Silk). She apparently is going through a test of sorts for fae, if they fail this bat mitzvah than they devolve and become a deranged underfae. Now the crew is in a race to prep her for this skills test. This should be interesting.
Next time: Bo confronts demons, both old and new, when she returns to the farm thaat she grew up on with Kenzi.
P.S. – This episode does not air until Monday, March 4th.
