Synopsis: Acting on a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him in New Orleans, Klaus makes a trip to the town he and his family helped build. Klaus’ questions lead him to a reunion with his former protégé, Marcel, a charismatic vampire who has total control over the human and supernatural inhabitants of New Orleans. Determined to help his brother find redemption, Elijah follows Klaus and soon learns that Hayley has also come to the French Quarter searching for clues to her family history, and has fallen into the hands of a powerful witch named Sophie. Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, Damon and Stefan continue with their plan for Elena, while Katherine reveals a surprising vulnerability to Rebekah and asks her to deliver a message.
My thoughts: I have to admit that I really liked this back door pilot to the now green lit spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. Since we met “the Originals” we all said that they were far more entertaining the original cast of The Vampire Diaires and I place the blame on the storylines. The Originals pulled us out of Mystic Falls and expanded the universe of this show and injected it with some much needed fun.
Watching Klaus go to his old stomping grounds and feel like someone stole his destiny, you know we were sitting on the edge of our seat. Then to find out that he had baby mama drama that the local witches were trying to use in order to force Klaus to take down his progeny. Of course, this is Klaus we are speaking of and initially he could care less about the bun in the oven, but after talking to Elijah (who surprisingly dropped Katerina in order to assist his brother) and meeting a human bartender named Camille, he decides to do what the the witches ask of him and to also accept his heir.
Now, the only question we have is what forces Rebekah to up and leave Mystic Falls for New Orleans?
There were a couple of non-Originals scenes and it seems Elena is tougher than we thought and the Brothers Salvatore are willing to do whatever it takes to turn her feelings back on.
Next time: Damon and Stefan try a brutal new approach to provoke Elena into turning her humanity back on, and Caroline is frustrated when her attempt to intervene backfires. When Elena figures out a way to call the Salvatore brothers’ bluff, they call for backup from a surprising source. Matt gives Rebekah some unsolicited advice on her life choices, and she tries to help him in return. Caroline has a confusing and dangerous encounter with Klaus, and Katherine is suspicious when Bonnie makes her an offer that she promises will benefit them both.

Joseph Morgan stated the following in an interview with TV Guide
“In the episodes to come after break, there’s a certain amount of him sitting with his feet up, looking at the carnage as it unfolds before him. He’s pulling the puppet strings and then letting them go to see what happens.”
Yet, with the knowledge that Klaus’ sister (Rebekah) and brother (Kol) are coming back and pissed off beyond belief at Klaus, it seems that Klaus will indeed hit a rough patch. Will this end in his desmise? Only time will tell…
What’s to come?– Have you looked in your local roller disco? Because that may be where the show is headed. Though exec producer Julie Plec hastens to note that nothing is set in stone, she does admit, “We’re just now writing a script which, in a perfect world, will take us back to the ’70s in New York City. Everything could change, but it’s an era we haven’t explored yet. It could be a lot of fun.” Especially since she adds that “it’ll definitely involve our brothers in some form or another.” Cue the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack in 3, 2, 1…
Will Katherine return? – “That elusive vixen is still somehow lurking in the shadows,” teases Plec, “but keeping herself well hidden… Given Klaus’ continued presence in Mystic Falls, we shall see if we’ll be able to get her back into town.” Scram, Klaus!
The Vampire Diaries: We can’t say when Caroline will meet Haley, but we can tell you that the revelation will push Caroline towards Klaus. Before Forwood fans completely freak out, Phoebe Tonkin tells us, “There’s no catfights. You definitely see an interesting dynamic between Caroline and Haley,” though she adds, “I think definitely Caroline is kind of suspicious.”
Once Upon a Time: Sadly, it seems like it might be a while to find out about Tinkerbell on Once Upon a Time as Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook) tells us he has yet to film any Neverland scenes (they are currently filming episode 11). In fact, he hasn’t even been told if they are definitely introducing Peter, though he’s hoping OUAT decides to—we hope so too!
Info:“When Stefan (Paul Wesley) questions Klaus about Connor’s (guest star Todd Williams) motives, Klaus reveals a long-ago encounter with a powerful group of vampire hunters, but it’s Rebekah who delivers the information that stuns Stefan.”
Julie Plec stated the following to TVLine regarding the love matches on the upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries:
The Love Triangle of Stefan-Elena-Damon: Elena’s transition into vampdom will effect this love triangle:
“This circumstance, which is pretty horrific, is going to make them all care about each other even more deeply and argue even more intensely and fracture even more greatly and love as deeply as possible.”
Delena shippers do not fret:
“It’s certainly not the end of Delena, as anyone might be afraid,” insists Plec. “In fact, in a way, it’s the beginning of the beginning.” But just because Elena now remembers Damon’s confession of love and that she met him first doesn’t mean she’ll be regretting her decision to stick with Stefan. “I wouldn’t want her to be so fickle,” says the EP. However, the regained knowledge will “imbed itself in her brain a little bit. As she continues to look at herself and her relationship and friendship with Damon, it’s all those new pieces of information that will be important along the way.”
Tyler-Caroline-Klaus:
“I definitely think that Klaus is going to unwittingly provide a little bit of mistaken identity hijinks in the first episode back.” Meanwhile, a fresh face who has “a history” with Tyler will arrive. “We’ll start to understand that this is a friend of his, who’s been very important to him in the past,” teases Plec. So should Caroline and Tyler fans be worried? “Any time a hot, new girl comes to town, somebody’s got to be worried about something. But Tyler and Caroline have a really solid bond, a really solid relationship. So it takes somebody really special to get in the way of that.”
Bonnie-Jeremy-April:
As stated in earlier interviews, April shares a history with Jeremy and Elena. She will provide something more than friendship for Jeremy.Regarding the character of April:
“We didn’t bring her in to be a love interest for anybody,” says Plec. “But we’re certainly open to seeing where the chemistry flies.” Meanwhile, Jer and his ex Bonnie “are very bonded to each other. In spite of having found a piece of closure in their relationship, they will continue to be drawn to each other emotionally. Whether it’s romantically, I can’t say.
Seems like it going to be another fun year in Mystic Falls.
Wow, by the time the season begins… we will practically know everything about the season…
Is this a good thing or a bad thing, I’m not sure, but here are a few more deets to satiate your need:
1. Alaric screwed the local vampires when he spilled the beans to the council, so there WILL be a dramatic death in the first episode.
2.As expected, Elena will feel torn between each brother’s perspective on how she should proceed in her indoctrination in to the Vampire world. Thus, these two being at odds, will impact her relationships with each of them.
3. Again, Klaus will be back in his body and he is planning to drive Tyler and Caroline apart. Not surprising!
Julie Plec stated the following:
“The finale wasn’t putting a final point on any relationship. If anything it was just creating a new beginning for all the relationships. Things are going to be evolving and changing for all points of all triangles on this show.”
4. Bonnie’s main goal, early on in the season, is to stop Elena from transitioning into a Vampire. Of course, we know that will not happen.
5. As we all know, there will be a vampire hunter in town, and he is “very hardcore, he’s very skilled he’s very strong. and they’re going to realize they’ve got a bigger problem than they’re used to.”
6. We will be learning of Esther’s backstory.
7. Stefan will not be getting a new love interest.
8. Damon will come to learn that Elena remembers that moment he compelled her to forget, but he will be give her attitude because she made her choice at the end of last season and he cannot forget that.
9. Stefan and Caroline will become BFFs.
10. Klaus storyline is intertwined with the vampire hunter’s story arc.
As the year progresses we will update this section with new books that we think you will like.
