Lionsgate Has Found Their Katniss
According to E!, although Lionsgate has not given the official word, sources close the studio have confirmed Jennifer Lawrence will indeed portray Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling trilogy, The Hunger Games.
Lawrence, who was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Ree in Winter’s Bone, is not exactly what I picture when I think of Katniss.
In the books, Katniss is tough, slightly malnourished, and had dark hair and olive skin.
Jennifer is none of these things, with her blonde hair and fair complexion — not to mention the fact, she’s a bit older than I’d hoped.
That said, she has proven to be a wonderful actress and I truly truly believe that with the right hair and makeup, she will do the role justice.
