Spoiler Time: Supernatural, Once Upon a Time, The Secret Circle, and True Blood

Monday, November 28th, 2011

Here’s the latest Supernatural scoop from E!:

Bobby’s (Jim Beaver) flirting with death after that whole being shot in the head thing that happened last episode. So where does he find himself? Purgatory! Yes, our beloved Bobby will be reliving his life and will come across a dear old friend in the process: Rufus (Steven Williams).

And when will we find out more about Mr. Gold on Once Upon a Time:

We’ll learn more about Mr. Gold (the ah-mah-zing Robert Carlyle), and his fairy-tale counterpart Rumpelstiltskin, in episode eight, penned by Jane Espenson! “Some crucial facts about where Rumpel comes from,” are revealed in the episode, Espenson tells us. As for whether or not he’s truly evil, that remains to be seen. “He’s a wild card,” she says. “His ulterior motives are still always very complicated.

Remember that deal Emma (Jennifer Morrison) made with Mr. Gold? “He’s going to hold onto that for a while,” Espenson teases. “He’s going to make sure that’s paid off when he can get the maximum bang.”

Also, here’s the latest casting deets from the set of The Secret Circle:

Get ready for someone from Charles (Gale Harold) and Dawn’s (Natasha Henstridge) past…one of his ex-girlfriends! Lauren will pop up in episode 13 and while she intimidates Charles’ mother, who convinced him to break up with her, she’s more than a little intimidated by Dawn. Expect to see Lauren, who is timid but holds dark strength, interact with Diana (Shelley Hennig) as well.

And from True Blood:

The fangtastic HBO hit is looking to add a few new vampires to the mix in season five. True Blood is currently casting the Authority council members so we’re thinking these vamps mean business. Kibwe is gentleman vampire who believes in vampire rehab, while Rosalyn is a Texas fanger with a whole lot of hair. But the most intriguing council member? A 9-year-old vampire named Alexander who loves cigarettes and annoying the rest of the council. Smoking aside, we’re stoked for Alexander’s debut!

‘Game of Thrones’ Teaser: Season 2 Dragons are Kept Here

Monday, November 28th, 2011

(EW – James Hibberd)  Flew to Croatia under cover of darkness on a bold secret mission: To sneak onto the Game of Thrones season 2 set and snap a photo of Daenerys Targaryen’s three dragons. My editors at EW tried to talk me out of it — something about the producers using “CGI” for the dragons (?). But I was certain I could evade whatever high-tech countermeasures the Thrones team employed. I anchored my dingy in the waters off Dubrovnik, then swam ashore at Fort Lovrijenac–

For season 2, Thrones has added this fort as a location for King’s Landing scenes. The imposing 11th-century structure was built to keep out any invaders. I threw a grappling hook over the ledge, then climbed its highest 121-foot wall. Wearily pulling myself over the side, I see Tyrion, Joffrey, Littlefinger, Sansa, the Hound … but no dragons. Drat.

I climbed back down and spent the night wandering the streets of Dubrovnik, asking locals if they know where the dragons are kept. I found copies of Ice & Fire novels (with Croatian book covers that are way more rad than the North American editions). But when asked about the dragons, locals  simply pointed toward the mountains.

So I hiked deep into the hills and found another obstacle. A massive, heavily guarded gate. This must be it. But how to get inside?

Left with no choice, I fought and defeated every guard by beating them unconscious with my laptop (I would have taken a photo of this part, but who can battle 20 spear-carrying sentries and take pictures at the same time?).

Beyond the gate — success! There are hordes of Dothraki milling about. I disguised myself in brown rags, kept my head down and wandered the crowd until … I found them. With trembling hands, I snapped this image. Dany’s dragons in season 2 are kept here:

See, Drogon is in the top basket. And I think that’s Viserion who’s carried on the left side of the horse. And you can’t really see the third basket, but Rhaegal must be on the right …

What? They’re right there! This is where the dragons are being kept in season 2. Dany’s not going to have them running around all the time. They could fly away or bite somebody or get sunburned or, uh… what?

Fine. So we admittedly got a little more than this during our visit to the Thrones set. Stay tuned in the weeks/months to come for plenty of in-depth Thrones season 2 coverage.

Spoiler Time: Supernatural

Monday, November 28th, 2011

Here’s the latest intel on Supernatural from TV Lines’s Matt Webb Mitovich:

When speaking with Meghan Ory (aka Once Upon a Time‘s Ruby aka Red Riding Hood), I was sure to run by her the synopsis for Supernatural‘s Episode 11, in which she plays Sally, “a frightened working girl who comes to Sam for help.” Issue No. 1: Why is Sally “frightened”? “Life’s hard when you’re turning tricks,” she explained. “Plus, there’s some stuff going down at the place that she works, and she has nowhere to turn except to Sam.” Issue No. 2: Why Sam? “He’s in the right place at the right time.” Issue No. 3: Um, what is this ‘right place” that Sam is at, where he’s rubbing elbows with working girls? A cathouse? “No, no, no,” Ory corrected with a laugh. “Sally works out of a truck stop. She’s a good girl who’s doing everything she can to survive, and Sam is there to help her do that. ” And Issue No. 4: Will there be (gratis) sparks with Sam? “Aren’t there always sparks with Sam? At any given moment?” Ory countered, effectively.
