Spoiler Time: ‘Fringe’, ‘The Vampire Diaries’, and ‘True Blood’

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Here’s the latest news and spoilers from E!’s Spoiler Chat:

First up, a little on the rumors that have been worrying many fans of Fringe and The Vampire Diaries

Dan in Pompton Plains, N.J.: What are your thoughts on Fringe? Canceled or renewed? It would be a crime if it gets axed. Almost as bad as John Noble not getting an Emmy nod for his role as Walter/Walternate.

Inquired about Fringe‘s future for you, and insiders are pretty optimistic that Fringe will get another season. The show is said to be a personal fave of Fox boss Kevin Reilly, the DVR numbers are great, and oh yeah, in comparison to shows Lie To Me and Human Target, the series is a veritable critical darling. There are no guarantees in life or in television programming, but we feel pretty confident that season four of Fringe will happen. Yay!

Gia in Denver, Colo.: Is American Idol putting The Vampire Diaries in jeopardy? Obviously American Idol gets more viewers, but do we have anything to worry about? TVD is the best-rated show on CW.
TVD fans, don’t worry about the impact of Idol for one second. Your show is rock-solid in every way and clearly much beloved by the Powers That Be at the CW.

And here’s a little more on The Vampire Diaries

sheilarajaram (via Twitter): Can you please gives us some Vampire Diaries scoop?
Look for Caroline to be less tortured vampire and more high school student. “I think a priority for Caroline now is just to find the human inside—a little bit more of who she was before everything happened,” says Candice Accola. “And to see if those relationships [with Tyler and Matt] can uphold, how much she’s changed and grown.

Gillian: Do you know anything about who is being killed off of The Vampire Diaries?
I know that if a major cast member is being killed off, chances are they already know. “At this point the writers will give us a heads up if anything too dramatic goes on,” Candice tells us. “If any really big changes are coming, they call us and give us a run-down.”

And finally a little on True Blood

@emilyanne18 (via Twitter): Do you know any new spoilers related to season four of True Blood?
We talked to Sam Trammell this weekend at an event for the True Blood: All Right Now graphic novel, and he told us about Sam’s future, “What’s great about this year is that we explore the shape-shifter community a little bit more, so there’s going to be a lot of cool mythological stuff that we talk about, shape-shifter rules and what shape-shifters can do and who they are. Sam’s [also] got a new love interest that’s going to happen this year for him. I don’t have really good luck with the ladies, they usually die—so hopefully she’ll survive.” Everybody wish Sam’s new girlfriend luck on that whole “surviving Bon Temps” thing!

@nathalia004 (via Twitter): Do you have any True Blood scoop?
True Blood star Rutina Wesley shares, “You’re going to find out where Tara goes, and there’s going to be some happiness for her. It won’t last for long, this is True Blood. It’s a new Tara, and I think the fans are going to like it. She’s not duct-taped, she’s not tied up, she’s got this personal strength and I think it’s really awesome to see her. Sookie (Anna Paquin) and I will have some stuff this season—she’s my best friend, so we’re always going to have little moments. And we’re going to get back to how I felt about Sam Merlotte, finding out that he was a shape shifter, so we are going to have a little moment about that. And I think Lafayette’s (Nelsan Ellis) the only one that knows where I am, and he gives me some great advice.” Hmm…

@JulischkaHH (via Twitter): True Blood!
How about some Jessica-Hoyt scoop? We chatted with Deborah Ann Woll this weekend, and she told us, “[Jessica and HoyT] ended in a very positive place but obviously that won’t last for long. We definitely pick up with a bit more trouble happening. Bon Temps is a scary place! The first two episodes are very interesting—Jim [Parrack] and I had some really fun stuff to play with like right off the bat. But maybe the first episode is my favorite as of now, just because it is the most varied.” Deborah also told us that Jessica and Bill (Stephen Moyer) grow closer this season, saying, “I think we’re definitely also in a healing stage where he’s finally accepting that he has a progeny, that he has a daughter vampire, and he needs to give me tools to actually survive. So he’s definitely more cooperative and participatory in my growing up.”

Enjoy! ;) Kelly

S.O.S. – Help Save The Vampire Diaries & Fringe

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

By: Maria G.

Over the last couple of days, we started seeing smoke signals from the camps of Fringe and The Vampire Diaries.

First, we have Ian Somerhalder tweeting to his fans that:

Is American Idol the death of The Vampire Diaries? Well, viewership apparently says so… Our #’s are SO down:( if U guys like TVD u may Lose it if we don’t tune in:(

Recently, The Vampire Diaries was listed in the bottom 50 of shows on TV.

Than, after possibly the best episode to ever air, Fringe was put on hiatus until March 11th. It is already on the dreaded Friday night time slot and I still believe that the Fringe camp is trying to write the storyline so that if it ends this season… it ends without leaving us hanging.

Should we be worried? Yes.

What can you do? Well, if you love these shows as much as I do than watch!

Oscar Watch: Auto-tuned Musical Montage that includes Twilight’s “He Doesn’t Own a Shirt?”

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

One of the highlight’s of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards was a little Auto-Tune musical montage that was created by Justin Timberlake and it included:

“Tiny Ball of Light,” credited to Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

That number was followed by another Auto-Tune-ification, this time of Woody and the gang from “Toy Story 3,” via the funktastic “We’re Still Here.”

The song, “Fishing for Facebook,” worked the infamous “14 trout” speech into the kind of slick club come-on that might easily have been a B-side to one of Timberlake’s own albums. The piece ended with Timberlake dropping his signature line, “A million dollars isn’t cool, you know what’s cool?” over a driving beat, then pausing a moment and adding: “a billion dollars.”

Just to make sure they snagged the kids, the musical tribute ended with “He Doesn’t Own a Shirt,” a pretend slow jam from “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” in which a jealous Edward Cullen sneers, “Doesn’t he own a shirt,” at romantic (and, yes, shirtless and ripped) rival Jacob Black. In the background, a group of female singers explained, “He’s too sexy for a shirt” and “She’s so glad he doesn’t have a shirt” as Bella Swan embraces her werewolf pal.

Between this and Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr.(who Anne Rice wants to play Lestat) presenting two awards…

They are my vote for Monday Morning Hotness!!!

The awards were not as bad as in year’s past, still long though!

What Does it Take to Pull Kelly Out of the Grips of Death … I Mean the Flu?

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

Well …

My misery was put on the back-burner for just a few moments, earlier, when I happened across a little hunk of joy in my inbox from TVLine.

It looks like we’ll be seeing one of my favorites — Allan Hyde, A.K.A Godric — in the upcoming season of True Blood!

Ausiello reports that length and timing of his return are unknown and that it’s unclear if he’ll be shown in a flashback or as a ghost, but he did have this tiny tidbit to share …

Blood EP Alan Ball isn’t offering too many clues, except to say that fans will see “a different side of Godric.”

So, are y’all as exited as me?  It totally made me feel way better for a few minutes, but unfortunately, it’s time to go back to bed!

;) Kelly

The guys from the Vampire Diaries mug it up for the cameras…
