Which side are you on?

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

When Season 2 of True Blood arrives this summer, what side will be on?

HBO sent out this newsletter heading with a link to their store with t-shirts sporting American Vampire League or Fellowship of the Sun. I think it’s a cute gimmick. I’m so getting a FOTS shirt… :D HA!

You too can show your FOTS support (okay, or AVL support) by clicking here.

When life imitates art…

(The Independent) Is truth is stranger than fiction?

The independent.co.uk broke the story “British scientists create synthetic blood.”

Scientists in Britain plan to become the first in the world to produce unlimited amounts of synthetic human blood from embryonic stem cells for emergency infection-free transfusions.
A scientific breakthrough in England sounds pretty similar to the premise of the HBO hit series: TrueBlood, a TV series about modern-day vampiers.

If you recall our post about the Trueblood viral marketing campaign, you may recall a certain part of the storyline:  A Japanese scientist’s invention of synthetic blood allows vampires to progress from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. Season 2 is set to start in June, so it’s probably too late for the writers to integrate this story into one of the episodes.

From Dead to Worse will be released as a paperback…

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

fdtw(The News Star.com) – Good new for Sookie Stackhouse lovers. The paperback version of “From Dead to Worse” by Charlaine Harris, the No. 8 book in the Southern Vampire Series and the literary origins of the HBO series “True Blood,” will be released in paperback at the end of March.

Hot on its tail will be the hardback release of “Dead and Gone,” the ninth book of the series.

“From Dead to Worse” finds Sookie back in Bon Temps after the terrorized attack on a vampire convention. The small town has its own problems, however, with a political split in the werewolf pack of Shreveport, the Louisiana vampires regrouping after Katrina devastated the queen’s home in New Orleans and an old and beautiful fairy with streaks of the frightening visiting Sookie. Jason, Sookie’s brother, is up to his usual irresponsible antics, Sookie’s boss Sam shifts into something besides a dog this time and another witch joins Sookie’s roommate to add to the mix.

About the website…

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Hello My lovely little True Bites,

I had posted earlier that Nicole had won our banner contest. But we had some other entries and we decided to add them to the site. Michelle created an image that reflects True Blood and that is now on the page that covers the TV show. John created a banner, via a collage effect, that dealt more with our podcast; that image is on the page where you learn about us. So, we have posted our top three and we congratulate all of them for reflecting everything we are about.

Now, I’m going to go pass out.

XOXO,

~M.

P.S. We will be having another contest around all the seasons; so, start working on your banners because Summer is just around the corner.

Lizzy Caplan talks about Ryan, TB and New Projects.

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

NY POST POPWRAP: Lizzy Caplan talks about Party Down and working with Ryan Kwanten. Here are a couple of interesting bits for you Ryan Kwanten fans:

PW: Did you know going in that Amy would die?
Lizzy: Yeah, I went in knowing she would be killed, but by the time we actually got to that part, I was super bummed about it.

PW: Maybe that’s the cost for spending so much time naked with Ryan Kwanten?

Lizzy: He’s got muscles that I didn’t even know existed! For somebody who looks like they just work out every second of every day, he’s just like this totally down to earth nice guy. Nothing like Jason Stackhouse.
