Spoiler Time: Any scoop on True Blood‘s Big Bad Bill in Season 6?

Tuesday, September 18th, 2012
(TV Line/ Michael Ausiello)  Not so much scoop as an interesting quote from Stephen Moyer, leftover from my finale post mortem, about his investment in what viewers think of Bill. When I asked how he felt about Bill possibly inflicting physical harm on Sookie next season — perhaps even worse than the smackdown he gave Jessica in the penultimate S5 episode — Moyer said, “If that’s dramatically compelling and fun and great to watch, then so be it. That’s awesome.” He went on to say (and this is the part that got excised from the story), “One has to stop worrying about how one’s character is perceived. I think we all probably had a point in the series where you did worry about the public persona of our character. But I stopped worrying about that in Season 2. That’s not to say I don’t care. What I mean is you’re going to stop playing something authentically if you’re worried about how it’s going to be perceived.”

True Blood: Billith Speaks – Stephen Moyer Speaks of Last Night’s Season Finale

Stephen Moyer as Billith (Courtesy of HBO)

TVLINE recently interviewed Stephen Moyer a.k.a. Billith about the season finale that has everyone talking.

TVLINE | As billed, the finale featured a lot of blood.
We didn’t skimp on the death. [Laughs] During the table read for the episode, we were all going, “Oh my f—ing God!” It was like every five seconds somebody exploded. And I know what that means to shoot an episode that has that many deaths in it. Every single time you have to replace the body with a bag of blood, which we call a ‘Goo Drop.’ The ‘Good Drop’ is something like 20 to 30 gallons of blood being smashed down on the floor. And they came up with an even better way of doing it where they jettison 15 gallons of blood into the air as 16 gallons of blood falls down onto that blood, so you get this splatter effect that goes out wide. But that takes the best part of two or three hours per hit. So when we all read that episode, we were going, “Okay, three hours, six hours, nine hours… that’s a day, that’s another day.”

TVLINE | How long did it take to shoot the episode?
It was three very intense weeks. We’re very lucky on our show because we get to shoot like 20, 25-day episodes, which I don’t think anybody else on television gets to do

TVLINE | Let’s talk about the final scene — what was the makeup process like?
It’s a long process, but ultimately not something we haven’t done before. Sitting in a chair having your body painted is something I’ve done quite a few times on the show. You spend three or four hours in the chair and then you come out looking like somebody else. One of the most interesting parts of the shot was actually during the transformation before the final moment. There’s a lot of tiny little tubes that you have all over your body and then they pump blood through the tubes, and that’s the cross moment where Bill as we know him [turns] into what he becomes. And that was amazing.

TVLINE | What does he become? And is Bill really dead?
I don’t think so. Certainly, when I read it I went through a moment of, “Oh my f—ing God – Jesus!” And certainly a couple of people — Alex [Skarsgard] being one of them — called me going, “Have you read it yet?!” It’s pretty out there… One of the things I wanted to do was show fear in Bill’s eyes. Show that he’s absolutely clear that what he’s doing is the right thing until it starts to happen, and then we see the vulnerability in him of, “F–k, what have I done?” And that was something I hope comes across. We [wanted] to freakin’ terrify the audience.

TVLINE | This obviously sets Bill up to be an even bigger villain next season.
I think you’re right. I haven’t seen anything for next season so I have no idea, but yes. [Laughs] I think it would be safe to assume that what we thought was Bill is no longer Bill.

TVLINE | So it’s within the realm of possibility that he could do to Sookie what he did to Jessica — only worse. How do you feel about that?
If that’s dramatically compelling and fun and great to watch, then so be it. That’s awesome.

TVLINE | With that cliffhanger, Alan Ball is setting up a killer Season 6 for you — but now he’s leaving the show. Any concern there?
We had some inkling [he was planning to leave] around Season 4. We weren’t even sure he was going to do Season 5, so we were very excited to have him for another season. But we did know this was coming. He’s just extraordinary. He’s this wonderful, complex, funny puppet master; we all adore him. Do we want to see him go? No way. But Mark Hudis, who is taking over, is an excellent writer. He came in during Season 4. He understands the characters, he has great wit. I had the great pleasure of directing his episode this season — Episode 8 — so I worked very closely with him. He has a fantastic take on what our show is. And Alan would’ve never given his baby over to someone he didn’t trust.

And that, my friends, is how you end a season – True Blood Season Finale Recap

Sunday, August 26th, 2012

What a season! Kudos to the True Blood crew for giving us the best season we’ve ever had and we cannot wait to see the 6th season. We were not totally surprised by those that passed away, but we will most definitely miss Russell Edington. His crazy made us go crazy. With that stated, here is the complete list of characters that passed away during the season finale.

R.I.P.

Russell Edgington

J.D.

Chelsea the Receptionist

Salome

Rosalyn

Now, let’s get on with the recap!

Besides all the death and mayhem, I just want to first jump for utter joy because Eric was awesome tonight!

Between offing Russell:

Bickering with Jason:

Annoying Jason:

Protecting his progeny:

Sharing a moment with Pam:

Protecting Sookie:

Bothering his sister:

And attempting to save Bill from himself:

Eric had a banner night!

Other highlights of note:

Well, Maurella finally popped after ingesting a container of table salt and Andy did not only become a daddy to one bouncing baby girl, but 4:

Unfortunately for Andy and the somewhat understanding Holly, Maurella up and left and left the rearing of the babies to Andy as part of their pact. Nice parenting Maurella. God help you Andy. Btw, I wish child birth was that enjoyable, I would have had 50 kids if it was that orgasmic?

Sam and Luna continued to try to save Emma and they came up with the brilliant plan that consisted of Luna shifting  into Steve so she could smuggle Emma out of the Authority compound. It was going to work, but then Roslyn showed up and dragged whom she believed was Steve to do an interview for damage control. As expected, Luna turned back to her normal self and before Roslyn could get her mitts on her… Sam buzzed his fly self into Rosalyn’s mouth… if that’s not love than I don’t know what is.

The question for season 6 is… will Luna survive? Remember, every time a Shifter changes into a  another human the weaker they become mentally and physically.

The pack storyline was not my favorite, but it was completed (or so we think). So, we saw Alcide, his Dad and Emma’s grandmother go into the pack to get it back and set it on the straight and narrow. We watched Alcide pummel J.D. to death. Unfortunately, he had to ingest vampire blood to do so. The question is, is this the end of Alcide’s troubles or will we see him suffer the repercussions for what he did tonight in Season 6?

So the mystery of Warlo continues:

Big question for Season 6 is how does Nora know Warlo?

So, let’s go into the storyline that we saw coming and damn it… they are the best True Blood couple, hands down!

Jessica: Sookie could you get these doors?

Sookie: Oh right cuz ya’ll are vampires and these are silver doors duh

Sookie: *opens Jess’s door*

Sookie: *goes to open Pam’s door*

Tara: *fucking opens it anway*

Sookie:….Oh okay

Jessica:knew it

Where the official shipping of Para or Tam (Pam+Tara) was born tonight, Jessica totally lost Jason. Jason is in full on delusional mode. He is now being haunted by the hallucinations of his parents  and they are feeding him this ire that is coming from that deep seeded issue he has had with vampires since he found out that his parents were killed by Warlo. This has resulted in Jason hating all of vampdom and that includes Jessica.

Will Jessica reach the old Jason is Season 6 and save him from all this crazy-talk or will we see Jason end up killing Jessica? The torture…

Towards the end of the episode the group split, Eric and Sookie stayed behind to save Bill and the rest were escaping which is when we got a bonus scene (from HBO) and that was what was going on in the lift:

While everyone else is taking down the compound, Eric and Sookie go looking for Bill. They tried to make Bill understand that he was under the influence, but he was not going to give in and for a brief moment we thought we lost one of the key players in the True Blood universe.

We should know better now, because Alan Ball and the writers of HBO would not let that happen and we were given the biggest shock of the tv year!

All praise Billith…

The shit is on…

Season 6 is going to be amazing!

With that said…

and waiting sucks!

XOXO,

~M.

Monday Morning Hotness: Cast of True Blood

Sunday, August 19th, 2012

No matter what you think of this season’s True Blood, you cannot deny that the cast is quite fetching:

Promo Photos from the Next Episode of True Blood: Gone, Gone, Gone

Friday, August 10th, 2012

With only three episode left in the season, we are biting our nails to the nub wondering who will and will not survive this season of True Blood. This ominous feeling is not helped with episode titles such as, “Gone, Gone, Gone.”

The synopsis for the episode is: With vampire attacks are on the rise, Bill starts a public relations campaign to gain public favor. Nora, on the other hand, is having a hard time selling Lilith’s gospel to Eric. Jason’s discovery of a mysterious scroll could reveal details about his family history. The new sheriff of Area 5 presses Pam and Tara to obey a new directive. Sam and Luna search for Emma. Russell seeks out his destiny.

Shake your fists to the sky and take deep breaths, these last few episodes are going to be a roller coaster of a ride.

Highlights and low-lights of True Blood’s Somebody that I used to know…

Sunday, July 29th, 2012

We interrupt the Men’s Swimming Olympic coverage with a little visual recap of True Blood’s Somebody I Used to Know.

The best storyline of the episode had to be that of Sam and Luna. As Sam went off on his quest to ride Bon Temps of it’s Supes Serial Killers, Luna started to lose it and eventually lost herself externally… that is.

Watching Luna as Sam walk around with his/her butt out and then Sam/Luna and Sam almost kiss had us in stitches and falling even more for this coupling.

Now, since kids go to this site, I will only have a still image of the scene that had many a women repeat over and over again:

Next up, Pam and Tara’ relationship keeps moving forward and for the better:

There was a bitter-sweet moment and that revolved around Lafayette:

These two had the best relationship and unfortunately these moments between Lafayette and the spirit that is Jesus are not enough for the fans.

Awwwww…

The funniest moment revolved around the vampire that we all love to hate and the former preacher that had the hots for Jason:

There two will be fuckbuddies in no time…

Craziest moment is that of the mysterious vampire that killed Sookie’s parents and is now after Sookie:

Most unfortunate moment revolved around Bill. Bill, when did you become so easily swayed by which way the wind blows????

What was your highlight and your low-light moment in tonight’s episode of True Blood?

P.S.

Pics from True Blood’s Next Episode: Somebody That I Used to Know

Friday, July 27th, 2012

While the rest of the world is focusing on the unfortunate break-up of a young couple, we have some pics from the upcoming episode of True Blood (Courtesy of HBO). In the episode, Sookie and Jason visit where the faeries say their parents were supposedly killed by vampires. Bill begins having flashbacks. Sam and Luna become stuck. The Authority celebrate their new chosen direction. This is the episode all the fans have been anticipating because it is the episode that Stephen Moyer directed.
