Spoiler Time: Teen Wolf, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and Beauty and the Beast

Wednesday, April 17th, 2013

Teen Wolf Tis the season of the Alphas! Not only did the new promo for the third season tease Scott’s Alpha potential, but we can reveal that episode 11 is titled “Alpha Pact.” “What’s cool about them is that they are all unique and they’re all individuals, so they do each have their own agenda,” Tyler Posey tells us of the new Alpha Pack members. “All in all, they’re all here together doing one thing, but they each have their own storylines, which is really cool. It’s really cool.”

The Vampire Diaries – Silas will take on the form of four different characters throughout Thursday night’s episode, that sneaky little bastard! As for the show’s other big bad (loosely using that term), Klaus? Look for the show to set up The Originals spinoff in a major way by episode’s end.

True Blood – Episode seven is called “The Funeral,” and it may or may not have to do with what Anna Camp recently told us about the new season. “There’s a lot of death. I’ve had sad read-throughs recently,” she told our own Marc Malkin at the MTV Movie Awards. “It’s too sad. Like, some people cried.” Uh-oh. Who would the T.B. powers that be dare take away from us?!

Beauty and the Beast – J.T. and Vincent are getting a new bachelor pad! “It took us a long time to find it, we spent a lot of time,” Jennifer Levin teases of the duo’s new digs. “It’s not a warehouse, it’s not a tunnel. We wanted a place that’s inviting, that Cat would want to be in. It’s kind of awesome.” So yes, Cat will be spending a lot of time there. Bonus: Check back later for an exclusive sneak peek from Thursday’s episode!

The Deets from Teen Wolf’s WonderCon Panel …

Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013

The Teen Wolf season 2 DVD is going to have some great stuff on it. Jeff Davis teased at the panel that the season 2 DVD will have a lot of extra on it, including deleted scenes, commentary and a gag reel. We were shown a bit of the gag reel in the panel and I can attest that it is hilarious.

Season 3 begins four months after what happened in the season 2 finale. When the show returns in June, expect to see everyone recovered from the trauma and drama of last season’s finale. Jeff Davis remarked that they wanted to jump ahead because he didn’t think people needed to see the actual recovery process of each of the characters. It also gives them a good starting point to move forward with the story.

Season 3 will be very dark. When asked for more details about season 3, Jeff Davis said that they are going for a “horror season” and that it will be very dark. He teased that one scene in particular, between Posey and O’Brien, will have fans in tears. However, he promised that it will also have plenty of light moments and laughter as well.

The alphas are going to be a force to be reckoned with. As part of the panel, fans were shown a special sneak peek clip from season 3. In the clip, we saw a violent fight between Derek and a few Alphas. The fight was brutal and featured a couple of the new Alphas who will be appearing in season 3.

Scott and Allison’s relationship is up in the air. Asked to talk about how things will be between Scott and Allison in season 3, O’Brien said that Scott will need some time to take care of himself before he can think about being with her or anyone. He said that, for now at least, their relationship is “up in the air.”

Danny will have some romance in season 3. Jeff Davis promised fans that Danny will find romance in season 3. “We get a lot of mileage out of pairing people up and seeing what happens.” Davis said.

We will learn more about Scott’s father and Stiles’ mother. Jeff Davis promised that fans will eventually get to meet Scott’s father and that he will “play a pivotal role” this season. He also promised that fans will learn a little bit more about Stiles’ mother this season.

Dylan O’Brien can’t watch himself on screen. Tyler Posey revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes fact about his co-star O’Brien. Apparently O’Brien doesn’t like watching himself on screen and avoids it whenever possible. O’Brien said that seeing himself on any type of video is “hard to get used to.”

Tyler Posey finds it easier to play Scott. Going into the third season, Tyler Posey remarked that getting into character was much easier than it had been any time before. “We are the same dude now, kind of.” Posey said about getting into Scott’s head.

MTV has never had any trouble with the LGBT content on the show. When asked if the network had any trouble with any of the gay storylines on the series, Jeff Davis said that it had never been a problem for MTV. “Why not see all types of people have romance on TV?” Davis remarked.

Stiles’ real name will only be revealed in the series finale. Asked if fans will ever learn Stiles’ real name, Jeff Davis said that that was one of those secrets that they will keep forever. He said that the only way it would be revealed is in the last scene of the last episode.

Spoiler Time: Teen Wolf

Wednesday, March 27th, 2013

Here are five teases for Teen Wolf‘s third season:

A Fast “Four”ward
When the action resumes, it will have been four months since the deadly events of the season finale, and according to Davis, the time-jump was not planned solely as a result of Colton Haynes exiting the series. “It’s a bit of a reset button,” he tells ETonline. “I don’t want to write the scenes where they’re all struggling to get over the drama, I want to pick back up during the fun. We wanted to start a new story, and we also wanted to come in on the first episode showing changes in all the characters.”

Scott’s New (Mc)Calling
“One of the great things about Scott this season is he’s got a new resolve this season,” Davis tells me. “In the first episode, he says to his mom, ‘I’m going to be a better son, a better friend, a better everything.’ He’s trying to become a better person for Allison, so when she comes back to him, he will be the best possible version of himself.”

Decidedly Darker
While it’s always scored in the comedy department, Teen Wolf is first and foremost a drama — and in season three, all the characters will have to confront some pretty dark choices. “I think the tone has changed a bit this season — we go pretty dark,” Jeff says. “Episode 6 [titled Motel California] turned out to be one of our darkest episodes. We push the characters to the brink in that episode. It’s our ode to The Shining, but it also deals with the characters coming to very difficult decisions about themselves and their future. What’s interesting is that while it’s much darker, it’s also one of our funniest episodes. We still are able to find the funny in a lot of this drama. It’s like Hitchcock’s Frenzy. That’s one of his darkest movies, but it’s also one of his funniest. It’s a hard balance to find, but I think this season is in keeping with our overall tone.”

Gay Payoff
While Teen Wolf fans have been ‘shipping Sterek for two years, an actual gay couple is blossoming this season in Beacon Hills as one of the twin Alphas (played by Charlie and Max Carver) begins dating Danny (played by Keahu Kahuanui). And according to Jeff, there will be some only-on-cable scenes between the boys. “I can’t say we go to Spartacus levels, but their sex scenes are treated just like any other sex scenes you’ve seen on our show.” Which is the key, in Jeff’s mind, to approaching gay characters on television. “I’ve always thought that if you present this idealized world where young gay men and women are no different from anyone else, and it’s not really questioned by the other characters, maybe life starts to imitate art and you begin to see that in the real world.”

Unlocking the Clues To Derek’s Past
By now, all Teen Wolf fans know that season three will feature a flashback episode to Derek’s childhood — but did you know there will also be a second flashback episode this season? “Episode 5 is also a flashback episode — but not in the sense that it flashes back to younger characters, it’s more like Pulp Fiction in the way we bounce around in time,” Davis tells me. “It’s one of our most ambitious episodes ever!”

Spoiler Time: Teen Wolf, Being Human, Beauty and the Beast, and Arrow

Wednesday, March 27th, 2013

Here’s the latest deets on several of the shows we love:

‘TEEN WOLF’: MORE ON DEREK FLASHBACK EPISODE

Get excited, Teen Wolf, fans! The Derek flashback episode you’ve all been asking about sounds to be just as good as you hoped it would be. Jeff Davis explains that he decided to go back in time so that he could show a Derek that was “completely different” and so viewers could see for themselves how Derek came to be the character he is.

“We’re going to learn about Derek’s past and we’re going to see him as a sophomore in high school and learn more about his relationship with Peter, Laura and his mother as well,” he says. “So we’re going to see the Hales at a different time in Beacon Hills. It’s a little darker. It’s going to be a fun flashback episode.”

But it won’t be the whole episode (“about two-thirds,” to be more exact.). Nonetheless, we’ll also learn why some werewolves have blue eyes instead of yellow, AND meet a confrontational Beta named Marco. One thing we won’t see in this ep? The introduction of Derek’s father, and Davis explains that he’s not sure when he’ll pull that card. “One of the reasons [we didn't show him] is because I wanted to be able to present his mother as a very powerful, strong matriarch,” he says. “The two big families in this show are kind of matriarchal. We have the Hales where the most powerful alpha was Talia, Derek’s mother, and we have the Argents, where in their family, the women are the decision makers. They send the men out to be soldiers.”

Still, Davis says, “this season has some of our most dramatic weight yet. So there will be a lot of gravity to these episodes.”

‘BEING HUMAN’: MORE ON JOSH AND NORA’S WEDDING

Well, I have one more photo for you (shown above) and this little nugget: Three unexpected characters return in next week’s penultimate episode, and one of them is literally going to crash Josh and Nora’s honeymoon!

‘BEAUTY AND THE BEAST’: MORE ON CAT AND VINCENT’S RELATIONSHIP

Cat and Vincent’s already complicated relationship is going to be double-dipped in turmoil during an upcoming episode later this season in which someone (read: a man!) gets close to Cat, causing Vincent to become uncharacteristically jealous and quite possessive (and also probably very hot). The big Q: How will Cat react to this jealous shade of Vincent?

‘ARROW’: MORE ON ROY HARPER

“I just read episode 22…Roy starts to give a little bit of information to Thea and he starts to give her a little bit more backstory into his life that makes her realize he needs a mentor,” Colton Haynes scoops. Lucky for Roy, I think I know just the man for the job…
