Spoiler Time: Arrow, Beauty and the Beast, and The Vampire Diaries

Thursday, May 9th, 2013

Arrow – Executive producer Marc Guggenheim says not to read too much into the title — Sacrifice — as “everyone should have a drinking game because literally if you were to take a drink every time the word sacrifice or some derivative thereof is used, you’d be buzzed by the end of the first act.” However, we can tell you there will be at least one major casualty in Starling City by the finale’s end. Start your prayer circles now!

Beauty and the Beast –  “It’s pretty interesting, because obviously Vincent is not trusting of Gabe,” Sendhil Ramamurthy says, adding that Gabe will not exactly be himself when he first meets Vincent. “It’s Gabe-Beast meeting Human-Vincent, it really floors Vincent because he’s incredulous at this point…that whole scene is really cool.”

The Vampire Diaries – While we won’t reveal which Salvatore brother our heroine chooses, we can assure you that she does in fact pick one. (No Kelly Taylor-esque “I choose me” moment happening here!) As for the other brother, fret not as he’ll have more than enough to deal with that not landing the girl (for now) will hardly register. Start prepping for one of the series’ best twists ever, basically!

SBLC Goes to the Movies News: Blood Sisters – The Vampire Academy Movie Will be Released on Valentine’s Day 2014

Sunday, February 10th, 2013

The Weinstein Company acquired the US distribution rights to Blood Sisters, which is based on the the Vampire Academy book series. This is the first time the Weinstein Company will distribute a YA movie, joining the ranks of Warner Brothers and Summit in this highly lucrative movie genre.

As we have stated earlier, Mark Waters will be helming this movie and the script will be handled by Dan Waters.

Co-chairman of the Weinstein Company, Harvey Weinstein, stated the following:

“I am thrilled to be working on the first feature for ‘Vampire Academy.’ This series is fantastic and I am excited to bring it to the screen for diehard fans and introduce the stories to a whole new audience.”

The press release describes Blood Sisters as:

“In ‘Blood Sisters’ Rose Hathaway develops a mental and spiritual bond with her BVFF (best vampire friend forever) Princess Lissa. The two girls attend a strict school for vampires designed to retain their humanity where it is Rose’s task to protect the Princess. Among the everyday issues faced by teenage vampires Rose falls for Dimitri, their dreamy guardian, and together the three battle the mysterious forces of the evil Moroi who are set on destroying the Princess’s bloodline.‬”

Happily fans of the book series will not have to wait to long to see their favorite characters, the movie will be released on Valentine’s Day 2014.

SBLC goes to the Movies: The latest deets on the Vampire Academy movie

Friday, February 1st, 2013

A lot has been happening lately in regards to the film adaptation of Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series.

We’d previously reported the movie got a director and a screenwriter and that casting was underway.

Well now, it seems the movie has a title …

And it isn’t Vampire Academy!

Nope!

The movie will be called Blood Sisters.

Also, according to The Official Vampire Academy Movie page on Facebook, three actors have been cast to fill three very important roles in the film.

Rose Hathaway will be portrayed by Zoey Deutch.

You may recognize Deutch from her role in the upcoming film Beautiful Creatures or her role as Juliet Martin in Ringer.

Lucy Fry will play Lissa.

Fry is fairly new to the industry, but did appear in an episode of the Australian TV show H20:  Just Add Water and is set to star in a new Australian show, Lightning Point.

And finally …

Russian actor Danila Kozlovsky will be filling the role of Dimitri.

Kozlovsky isn’t very well known here in America … yet, but he has acted in several movies in Russia and is considered one of the leading actors in Russia for both stage and screen.

So, now that we have our Rose, Lissa, and Dimitri, tell us what you think of the castings?  Also, what do y’all think about the new title?
