HollywoodNews.com: It’s really hard to be teenager for a lifetime. Just ask actress Deborah Ann Woll who plays vampire Jessica Hamby on HBO’s “True Blood.”
In an interview with AsiaOne.com, Woll explains, “It’s really interesting that we romanticize the idea of eternal youth.
“But when you think about being a teenager, and how strenuous and difficult that can be, would you really want to live at that age forever and ever?”
Originally, the character of Jessica, a church-going virgin who is transformed into a sex-driven, bloodsucker, was scheduled to appear in two episodes.
One of Jessica’s banes is that her virginity regenerates each time she has sex.
“Losing one’s virginity is a real representation of becoming a woman and not being a little girl anymore,” Brooklyn-born Woll said. “To have her stuck as a child when all she wants is to be a grown-up…is absolutely tragic and sad.”
Woll is a University of Southern California fine arts graduate whose previous TV credits include bits on “Life,” “The Mentalist” and “My Name is Earl.”
“The True Blood storylines stick with you more than you wish they would,” says the actress.
“I sometimes feel like crying or calling good friends, and having them remind me that I am a good person.”

LOL!!!!!!
Who ever is running this blog for HBO is a genius. It’s the best marketing for a character that HBO has ever done. It also gives a character who does not have a major story line… some much needed exposure.
